Have any of you seen the three Amish publications put out by "Pathway Publishers"? They are "Family Life", "Young Companion", and "Blackboard Bullentin". I've been subscribing for close to three years now and love them! Moral stories, letters, articles, word puzzles, recipes, homemaking tips, etc. The "Blackboard Bullentin" has stories and articles and is good for a homeschooling parent such as myself to get ideas from. Basically, you get over 30 magazines a year for $23 and I often sell my back issues on ebay when I am done and get my money back. I have a lot up for sale on ebay right now (you can see what they look like for searching babysmama04). If anyone wants subscription info let me know!

For years and years I have subscribed to The Budget which is the Amish newspaper out of Sugarcreek Ohio. It's where I was befriended by some nice people who then taught me how to make plain oak or pine burial boxes, sans screws and nails.

My auction ended earlier today and that's all I've listed for quite awhile. I'm more in the garage sale mode right now! Hope you enjoy the magazines you bought!

It is actually kind of refreshing they don't use e-mail, :)

Elizabeth,
I started getting them quite some time ago myself. I really enjoyed them but quit due to priorities.
They are very interesting publications.

Pathway Publishers doesn't use e-mail and all their correspondence is by mail. You can order each magazine seperate: "Family Life" (11 issues a year) for $12. "Young Companion" (11 issues a year) $9.00, and "Blackboard Bullentin" (10 issues a year) $7.00. Or you can do the three-in-one plan which is all three magazines for $23 a year. That is what I always do. If you want a back issue as a sample it is $1 and they only send one.

Remember to put enough postage on the envelope to mail to Canada. Canadian subscribers must include 5% G.S.T. and may pay in Canadian funds. All other subscribers must pay in US funds.
Marian, you will need to write to see if they mail overseas, I don't see that listed anywhere. If any of you do subscribe please post after you receive your first magazine to let me know how you like it!

Please send me the subscription info too if you will Elizabeth. I've always been interested in the Amish and in the Hutterites of Montana - seems such a peaceful way of life.

Where does one order these magazines. I checked online but could only find a written address to Pathway Publishers to order them. If you can email me the address, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

OH WOW!! I am so interested in the Amish way of life. Would love to see the mags but alas. I sometimes peruse the internet in search of articles etc. Anyone knows of a good info site? Perferably with pictures and info, lol. Here in the Netherlands there is absolutely NO info to be found let alone any magazines. I have tried the library as well, but no success.

Someone please??

Thank you for the post Elizabeth. I, too, love to read magazines about moral stories, etc... I, personally, have had enough of reading about movie stars, so-called movie stars, etc... Thank you for bringing these mags to my attention. I will check all three of them out. Marly
