Has anyone else read this? I finished it this morning - what an amazing book, I can't believe I haven't read it before. It did make me cry, so I started my day off crying but sometimes you need to do that I think. This book makes me think of all the knowledge that has been lost over the years and reminds me not to take for granted the people in my life.

My daughter read it as one of her assigned books this year and loved it. She, as a homeschooled child, appreciated that the idea of not all learning takes place in a school, behind a desk was part of the story!

Is this a children's book? I love to read and always looking for something new to read.

I really loved this book. I cried when the love/understanding of the grandparents for eachother was explained. It's weird, but it was at that moment that I knew my marriage to my ex-husband was not a love that was meant to be forever. I know that the author was racist, but I don't think it was right of Oprah to bash.

I haven't read it for years, though I have read it more than once. Truly, it is a lovely book. I think I probably need to read it again soon.
