Posted - Jun 03 2009 : 04:50:49 AM In the summer of 2008, Pat Alcorn and her homeschooling students participated in the Barn Quilts of Kankakee County project by designing, painting and helping to install an 8 x 8' plywood quilt on her mother's corncrib. It was one of ten quilts hung that year in the county forty miles south of Chicago, at least nine more are going up this summer. This 1:37 video is of her class and that quilt, which many visitors think is cloth until they get up close. It is a fine example of the trompe l'oeil technique. Her art class is working on a new quilt for the 2009 season.
