IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO READ A VERY NICE STORY ABOUT four SISTERS WHO RETURN EVERY SUMMER TO THERE MOTHERS AND FATHERS FARM, THIS IS A GREAT BOOK. I have read it three times. I think all of you farmgirls or want a be farm girls will love this story.ITS AN OLDER BOOK, MAY HAVE TO TRY AMAZON USED BOOKS. THE MOONFLOWER VINE BY JETTA CARLETON.

Nancy...I felt the same about "the Mermaid Chair" ... wasn't as good as "Secret Life of Bees." "Standing in the Rainbow " has to be one of my favorite books... read it twice this last year. I will alsto try the Mitford series. Thanks for the advice about the Moonflower... I will look it up & try again!

seems to be a popular reading choice, some of our other girls have brought up secret garden. I guess I'am going to have to get it out and read it again.

Call me simple, but one of my all-time favorites is "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I even had the video (starring Kate Maberly) playing for relaxation during the labor of my last child! Next I need the sound-track.

Type moonflower vine on google, the first info that comes up tells a lot about them, might be the info you need
I also read THE MERMAID CHAIR, DIDN'T CARE MUCH FOR IT. I LOVED HER OTHER BOOK LIFE OF BEES, so thought I would like mermaid chair.
Have you read the mitford book series by Jan Karon, they were good. I'am sitting here looking at my bookcase, how about "standing in the rainbow" by Fannie Flagg. same one who wrote Fried green tomatoes.
Let me know if you master the moonflower vine, book or plant.

Hi Nancy... I have tried planting from seed so many times the Moonflower & have never had success! I would love to have it growing by my back door. Does anyone know the trick to get them to germinate? I've treated them like sweet peas with soaking & making a cut. I sure am going to try to get the book as well... I need a good read after finishing "the Mermaid Chair"

Nancy -- I just got the notice from my library that the book is in. I'm going to pick it up this AM. Can't wait to read it.
Mine is just a little old fashioned garden where the flowers come together to praise the Lord, and teach all who look upon them to do likewise.

Years ago when my Grandma died ,we were cleaning out some of her stuff. She loved to garden and would always save seeds.
I came across some "Moonflower seeds", she had saved, They were old when I found them. I think I may still have them, just becausethey were hers, and I didnt know at the time what they looked like. I was going to plant them, but never did.
