Yipeeee! I had ordered 3 books off Amazon.com and 2 of the 3 arrived...

1. The Kitchen Linen Book by EllynAnne(The Apron Book)
Really luscious photos of beautiful vintage linens & hankies...
On page 103 I spotted a little hankie with "GRACE" embroidered on it!
EllynAnne has some lovely recipes & sweet Tea ideas and in the back of the book is an envelope w/iron on transfers with cute vintage stitchery patterens. I think I will have to give these a try, mabe as in "Red Work"
As always, there are sweet little vintage aprons through the book...wish I were the owner of them,,,toooo cute!
Oh and on page 82 is/are the most adorable crocheted tumbler sleeves...
I can hardly wait to really sit down & read all the sweet stories.

2.Dozens of Ways to Repourpose PILLOWCASES
by Suzanne J.E. Tourtillott
This cute book has a lot of the old tried & true ideas for pillowcase repurposing, like the simple little girls sundress & britches. but it also has a simple girls/ladies Halter type top, tote bags & purses, slippers, stuffed toys, a lunch tote, sun bonnet, small dog bed, lamp shade cover, baby quilt, teapot cozy, and my favorite an apron made with multiple layers from embroidered pillowcases.
It even suggests putting all of the pillow case to good use, old stained ones can be cut into long strips & used to crochet small bowls or rugs...waste not want not....

I believe that both books are well worth the money. They are listed at $19 if bought in a book store but on Amazon I paid only $26 for the two & got free shipping. SCORE!

The 3rd book I bought, yep, another one of 'MaryJane's. If I read my invoice correctly, it gets shipped today. Unless there is a glitch in the giddy-up....I don't mind waiting, it will be worth the wait.
Now to find time to steal away & go read!
