Posted - Jul 19 2008 : 7:29:37 PM Anybody read it? I just started it this afternoon, got about five chapters into it...so far so good! I watched the movies years ago, but I can hardly remember the plot, so reading the book is nice. :)

Posted - Jul 21 2008 : 6:53:16 PM I read the book a long time ago too, and I have the movie. I saw a few episodes of the series before they took it off the air. It was really good. Seems like all the good, wholesome, FAMILY movies get booted and replaced by a bunch of CRAP!!! Is it just me, or is something wrong with TV programming nowdays? ~~ Tracy

Posted - Jul 21 2008 : 08:10:39 AM I read that one when I was ten or so and then picked it up again a couple of years ago. It is one of those that you get more out of re-reading as an adult, although I think I learned and internalized some valuable lessons from it because I read it when I was young. Now it is on my list of "re-read every 4-5 years" Amy Grace

Posted - Jul 20 2008 : 7:06:30 PM Mom gave me that book for Christmas in 1969. I started reading it the next day and didn't put it down until it was finished. Really good book; wish I could find more like that.
