Posted - Sep 20 2012 : 4:05:18 PM I know this is an old post, but... "The Star Garden" is one of my four favorite books. Nancy E. Turner has three sequels, "These Is My Words"; my favorite book of all times, "Sarah's Quilt", the second sequel, and "Star Garden". The books are absolutely wonderful. Marly

Posted - Mar 31 2008 : 11:48:36 AM So glad to hear you've read her books and enjoyed them, I guess they made women more adventurous in those days. I'd forgotten about the other book, but I know it is in a box in the barn. Somewhere. Another book came to mind, have you read Sanora Babb's An Owl on Every Post? It is another memoir of life on the prairies. And i just finished No Time on Her Hands by Grace Snyder, she was a quilter of great fortitude, she made this famous quilt with like, 53,000 pieces or something, it was during the depression era. Well, I better get back to constructive activities here...Karin

Well, this post was a nice surprise, i liked her other books as well. I'll have to see if the local library has a copy. My daughter swears all they have there is Stephen King and romance novels, but I'll check anyway. Have you read Elinore Pruitt Stewart's Letters of a Woman Homesteader? It is a book about her adventures homesteading around the turn of the century. I don't know how many times I have read it, it is such a remarkable book. Karin

Posted - Mar 30 2008 : 11:33:42 AM Why not just get it from the library before buying it? That's what I do. then, if I want it, I go to half.com or amazon and get it very inexpensively.
