Has anyone ever read this book? True Women was written by Janice Woods Windle, a woman who traces three of her ancestors lives' from the frontier to the revolution of Texas as a state and the Spanish-American War with Santa Anna. It's an amazing book about real women's struggle with independence and faith in their own resourcefullness. The book is a great testimony to a woman's strength and courage in the face of adversity. It's one of my favorite books and hope others will enjoy it too!!!

I didn't really appreciate the movie very much. It was good movie, for a movie's sake, but it didn't follow the book very well. There's no way that they could, since there was so much detail in the book. As I usually do, I would suggest to read the book and then watch the movie. If I do it the other way, I get disappointed because the movies portray different characters.

This was also made into a television miniseries FYI. Don't know if it is on video or DVD but might be worth a look.
