I'm in the process of reading "Soul Gardening", by Terry Hershey.
It's a great book for these winter days and nights when we all long for warmer days. It's about opening yourself up to nature and gardens as a way to open up your soul and live a more satifying life. It's interspersed with stories, quotes and suggestions on how each of us can, in our own way, put down the stresses or expectations of today and enjoy the simple moments in life that fill our souls.
I think it's the perfect book for anyone who is moving toward a simpler more fulfilling life.

Better Off, Flipping the Switch on Technology, by Eric Brende. He and his wife move from the city to live in an Amish type community for a year and a half. But, out of respect for thier privacy he never really says what the community is.
The Outermost House, A Year of Life on the Great Beach of Cape Cod, by Henry Beston.
A Year in the Maine Woods, by Bernd Heinrich

I have A Country Year also and enjoyed it very much. Another one that's good is A Year by the Sea (I think that's the title) and Silvia's Farm. I'm drawn to books about single women doing their own thing. I find hope and inspiration in them. We may not get it done as fast as a man, but we do get it done. |

Oh sounds good! I just picked up "Three cups of Tea" at Costco yesterday!! So far! Engrossing!!!!

You might also like Deep in the Green - An Exploration of Country Pleasures by Anne Raver. It is really good (and funny)! A Country Year by Sue Hubble is also a classic good read! I'm gonna try Soul Gardening- sounds interesting!
