Any Miss Read fans out there? Kind of a Mitford feel, only she is a school teacher in an English village. The books are very delightful and an easy read.

I have read the "Village School" and 'Village Diary". I am reading the Storm in the village and also SUmmer at Fairacre. Mrs. Pringle cracks me up!

Julia! Yes, I have "Fresh from the Country"!!!! Got it a few months ago at my used book store! Haven't read it yet... My copy is the 1960 first American edition I found for 1.00. This book just kind of leaped off the shelves into my hands! What books of Miss Read have you "read"? This is so cool!
