Posted - Jan 14 2008 : 07:25:00 AM ...is absolutely wonderful. I like it better than the second book, Sarah's Quilt. However, I really liked that one, as well. We see more of the relationship with Udell as well as all of the old characters. Star Garden picks up right where Sarah's Quilt ended. Nancy E. Turner is amazing.
When These Is My Words began, Sarah was a young girl who desperately wanted to become educated, a theme that continues through the third book. Meanwhile, she heads west to the Arizona territory while her family is struck by all manner of tragedies. A tough girl, she protects those she loves and in return is loved and admired by the leader of the wagon train. Later she lives and fights for her family on the ranch in Arizona. Lots of farming and animal lore for farmgirls to enjoy! The first two books in the series were the topic of a thread over a year ago, the best I can remember.

Posted - Jan 22 2008 : 3:40:16 PM Well, I finished reading These Is My Words in a day and a night's worth of reading. Loved it and got all teared up at the end. Luckily, they had all three come in to the library at the same time, so I am on to Sarah's Quilt. Tissues at the ready! Thanks for the suggestions! Sharon
