I am right in the middle of the book "Letters of a Woman Homesteader" by Elinore Pruitt Stewart and I just can't get enough. You all MUST find it - library or otherwise - and check it out. She is amazing. Her letters are incredible...
It was given to me for Christmas by a lovely woman whom I had lost touch with - she is such a kindred spirit...

Posted - Jan 01 2008 : 12:23:25 PM Thanks, Libbie! Terry and I have been friends for years. She mentored me when I was first trying to make a living as a naturalist. I have since taken her place at the Museum and she has influenced me heavily.

Posted - Dec 30 2007 : 07:09:13 AM My mom recommended this to me- there is a companion book of her letters written during an Elk Hunt as well. I love her books and it is amazing to see how "real" people lived during that time period.
