A really good read for health info/how caffeine really affects the body. It is quite the eye opener.
We spent the entire day in ER recently when hubby did not realize that what was making him sick was actually the detoxing off of the caffeine.
He had decided to go "cold turkey" off of caffeine and oh my gracious..after having been a person that would consume 3 mountain dews a day, plus sometimes a cup of coffee in the morning, then on occasion a dark chocolate candy bar, and sometimes a red bull power drink during the day..to suddenly go "cold turkey" was so much like coming off of drugs..
his body went through a major shock, and it was quite scary.
We did not know what was going on until hubby started reading online about the effects of caffeine on the body, and how hard it is to actually go off of caffeine.
He had the following things going on with him when he started going off of the caffeine, and some things when he was still consuming the caffeine and would try to cut back:
weakness
fatigue
depression
anxiety/panic attacks
flu like symptoms
elevated blood pressure/elevated heart rate
flu like symptoms
muscle aches
cold hands and feet (very cold)
chills/shakes
shaky hands
crying for no reason
severe weakness
--------------
at the ER all the blood tests and exrays came back fine.
----------
So he started doing the research and finding other people that had decided to give up caffeine and many had gone through the same things.
-------------
He then purchased the book called
"Caffeine Blues"
by Stephen Cherniske,M.S.
and started reading about it more..and so many of the things that he had been going through prior to, and following the detox from caffeine were exactly what he had gone through.
---------------
It takes up to 3 weeks or better to be rid of the caffeine in your system and my husband is actually still "detoxing".
--------------
I would highly recommend this book.
-------------
and if you decide to cut out the caffeine..don't go "cold turkey" ..it's rough!! just gradually start cutting it back..as "cold turkey" is pretty scary.
(we found out the hard way..hubby thought he was dying/and I did too..because he couldn't hardly move and was so cold and shaky..but it was from going "cold turkey")
**And no..we do not drink, smoke, or consume anything illegal.

But anyhow..if you are having things like headaches, hormonal stuff, depression, anxiety, etc.
It may be an easier solution than you think.
