Just wanted to give my fellow farmgirls a head's up.
Harrowsmith Country Life- Canada's very best rural and rural-at-heart magazine- has brought out 2 new books this fall. One is their very first 'Truly Canadian Farmer's Almanac', and the second is 'Living the Country Dream; A collection of stories and how-tos from Harrowsmith'.

Both are available now through their website, magazine, and bookstores.
I'm really looking forward to gobbling both up soon.

The book is finally ordered! It will be here by Dec 17! That is something nice to look forward to over the Christmas holiday when I have 10 days off.

Me too! I picked up the almanac at the grocery a few days ago. It's really great.

Hiya,

I found the book listed at Chapters online. Here it is:

Meggie: I am only seeing the Almanac for sale on their website and I did a google search and one on Amazon for the Living the Country Life book and I can't find it. Is there another way to see it online? Thanks

I was talking with the magazine man at my grocery store today. He said he believes Harrowsmith Magazine is available only by subscription. It hasn't been on the magazine racks for years now. Funny, I could of sworn I saw it. Oh well. At least you can still get it.

Harrowsmith Country Life is a fabulous magazine! I always renew mine for 2 years! Lots of great gardening, renovating and cooking articles, as well as rural life.

You can check them out at www.harrowsmithcountrylife.ca

They have US and international subscriptions, too.

I plan to order it online this weekend. Both the book and the magazine. I used to read it all of the time and was happy to see it still going strong.

Oh Wow, I didn't know they were still in publication, I've never seen it here for decades? Is it just up north maybe?

It's still running! It's been going strong here since the seventies. I just got my October issue in the post (that's how I knew about the books). I don't know if they carry it on newstands though, or if they carry it in the US.
