Dear Farmgirls,
One of my older sister's and her hubby and all their grown kids and their families all live in Canada. They were all gathering at my sister's house at Williams Lake, BC to help them celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
There are terrible fires in the Williams Lake area and my sis and hubby have had to evacuate today. Thankfully, all the family was there to help them in the process and their son is with them to help support them. They have a trailer and are parked in the church parking lot in town until they know what is next.
I talked with her yesterday but that was before the evacuation order came.
Please pray for them, their family, and all about this SCARY situation. Some of the kids are unable to get back to their homes because of closed highways.

Thank you girls! Sister says tonight that they are still under alert, but the major concern is communities farther south. SOOOOOOOO there is still need for rain and relief in many communities in British Columbia!

Very strange . . . I posted an update yesterday but it is NOT here!
They are back home, house is standing, some smokiness and ash debris to clean up. Fridge and freezer contents intact, so if there was a power outage it was short. Garden in pretty good shape, they had fresh baby carrots, beets and sugar snap peas for supper and a foot long cucumber!
Their oldest daughter, who lives in Alberta, came back with them to help clean up, etc. We are PRAISING THE LORD!!!!
THANK YOU FOR PRAYERS!
Please continue prayers for the communities, cities, evacuees, etc. that all can be restored to normal and the fires will be OUT!!

The evacuation order has been lifted for most areas now, however they are still under ALERT! That means they may have to evacuate again, have 30 minutes to get out, so be prepared. My sister and hubby are at their daughter's in Alberta and are trying to decide if they should try to go home and be prepared or to wait a bit longer.

They are back from their cruise to Prince George to their son and daughter-in-law's place. As of today they are still unable to go home . . it's been TWO weeks. I hope they are able to return soon . . . it's all so uncertain. I'm sure their garden is suffering or gone. If the power went out for very long and they had things in a freezer that's gone. Who knows what else. And this is the case for thousands of people.

Williams Lake and surrounding areas are getting rain .. . HALLELUJAH! However, it will take some time for the cities to restore essential services, etc. and to make a plan for evacuees to return in a safe and orderly manner. It's been almost two weeks for my sis and her hubby. I'm THANKFUL they had this cruise planned with my brother and sister-in-law, which they are enjoying!

They are enjoying their cruise, checking in on purchased Wi-Fi with their kids who are posted updates on Facebook for them. It sounds as though their house is still standing, no structures lost in their area. Easier day today for firefighting efforts with less wind. Still very volatile and scary!

Oh CeeJay... just spotted this... just wrapping your family in hugz and prayers.
A SOTF, Deb Ryan, has been keeping us posted on the horrific fires in B.C.
No matter were the fires are... they are devastating ...and heart breaking.

My sister and her hubby are with my brother and sister-in-law as they head out on their Alaskan cruise this evening.
Their home town of Williams Lake, BC has been given an evacuation order. Things are just getting worse!!! Weather was a huge factor today with wind and lightning.
PRAYERS for RELIEF and SAFETY!

Sister and hubby have been planning to join one of our brother's and his wife in Vancouver for a week long Alaskan cruise. They are still planning to go, leaving for Vancouver tomorrow They don't know if their house is still standing but don't want to sit and wonder so they plan to cruise. We are all in favor of them going! They are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary!! 
My brother and his wife are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They live in the Charlotte, NC area and have been traveling this way for the rendezvous.
PRAYING FOR RAIN and RELIEF and they have a great trip . . . and their house is still standing when then return!

On July 17, 1994 . . . 23rd anniversary of that coming up soon, we lost our house in an arson fire. We're still rather paranoid and the actual smell of smoke is the thing that will REALLY trigger the "red alert" in us, so I'm glad we're not smelling it right now. It's a horrible thing to go through!

We are all concerned, but thankful everyone is safe. Do not know the status of their house yet. Yesterday there was a evacuation alert for the entire city of Williams Lake, so folks are leaving town. Praying for rain and relief . safety and protection for all!

The evacuation area was widened today. I was able to message through Facebook with my sister. They are doing okay, went to their son's place in Prince George (2+ hrs. to the north one way) for tonight or however long. My niece and I also messaged and she described how stressful this is for my sister and hubby!
