Posted - Jun 30 2015 : 3:36:39 PM Hi all! Many of you know we are expecting number 7 the end of August or beginning of September. We are going to name her Emily Jean, or Emi for short - a nice Farmgirl name ;) Anyways, I have been really struggling with dehydration and heat exhaustion this summer, especially with preparing to move next week! Today I went to the OB and Emi's heart rate is HIGH! They kept me on a monitor for awhile, but basically they think it is due to my dehydration issues. I am drinking between 10-12 cups of water a day! No caffeine except one cup of tea in the morning! The heat and being so busy is basically taking its toll on me, as well as Emi. Please pray she continues to grow and do alright, without the stress of all that is going on and with my body, taking its toll on her! Thank you sisters!

Posted - Jul 22 2015 : 12:43:09 PM Shannon I will pray for you and Emi. I hope you will take care of yourself and stay indoors and rest as much as possible. Do you eat salt? If so, you should go off of it and that might help with the dehydration issue. I have had that problem since I was a child. I get overheated easily so I drink water all day long and only water. I do not drink anything else. Also, if you don't have a blood sugar problem try to eat Organic fruit that is full of water and keep it cold in the frig. to help keep you cool.
Stress is another thing that can over work the body and dehydrate you. Also, try soaking your feet in cool water, not cold water. Your body will absorb the water. 10 minutes every hour or lay in the tub with tepid water can also rehydrate you. Avoid chlorine water. I put a filter on my shower that takes out the chlorine.
I hope these tips that work for me help you and Emi.

Posted - Jul 20 2015 : 10:02:48 AM Thank you ladies for the prayers! God is the only One getting us through right now! Hubby took off from work this week, between us all being sick and still trying to get the house done. I'm really starting to worry about whoever keeps going in our backyard! We might buy a padlock to put on it, as while it is locked, if you pull hard enough it pops open, which seems to be what they are doing. It is probably just the neighbor being foolish, since we were only gone for an hour the other night (we had forgotten something here and came back) and it was already popped open! She is probably just messing with our heads - but I am worried about someone getting hurt and suing us!

Posted - Jul 19 2015 : 09:25:00 AM Oh Shannon, I think you have had enough drama to last you for awhile. Hope you are getting rest and able to take care of you and Emi. I know it must be difficult with the other children ill. You are in my prayers daily. So sorry about your dh's co worker drowning. So sad. Prayers for the family and for the other needing surgeries. Even though all this could be overwhelming you are right God's grace is sufficient and he is able to carry you through.

Posted - Jul 18 2015 : 09:51:36 AM Sorry guys that I have been incognito! We will not have internet at the new house until the end of next week! it has been drama after drama after drama around here, but God's grace is sufficient!
Sunday before we moved we found out hubby's coworker/friend drowned up at Myrtle Beach, leaving behind is wife and 4 children.
That move went pretty well - we had 20 people from church show up to help us move! AND they set up my bed before they left, in the new house! During the move, the "unstable" neighbor called the police because we were too close to her proper!?!? The cop was literally rolling his eyes while he was telling us why he was called out!
Still working on BOTH houses! Aly is still having bouts with the intussusception. I have been SICK for the past 4 days, and four of the 6 kids are fighting a virus as well. Hoping to finish the old house today.
Another coworker of Brad's was in a motorcycle accident - survived but has needed multiple surgeries. His car died the end of last week. Our chickens that are at a friend's house were attacked by dogs - 2 were killed.
I think that is all the drama ;) I'll try to be on here more often! If you want my new address, send me an e-mail... I get reception on my phone at times at the new house.

Posted - Jul 17 2015 : 6:36:58 PM I don't think Shannon has a computer set up, yet. We email often and our correspondence has been sporadic. Last I heard Aly was still having bouts. She and Emi are doing the best they can with everything going on. Thank you everyone for your continued thought and prayers! I know she appreciates each one!

Posted - Jul 05 2015 : 05:23:55 AM Thank you ladies so much! To top everything off, we took Aly - my 2 yo - to the ER yesterday evening... she has small bowel intussusception which basically translates to part of her small intestine has telescoped into her another part of her small intestine, causing some bowel obstruction and A LOT of severe abdominal pain. Plan of action right now is to trry to wait it out and avoid surgery :( We are still planning to move tomorrow, as it is only 30 minutes from here, and still about an hour distance from the children's hospital.
