Hi all! Today has been an extremely difficult day for our family! We took our beloved Stephie (our dutch shepherd mix) to the vet, to have her put down. She had a tumor on her leg, in both eyes, and in her abdominal cavity, and honestly, who knows where else! She was 13, having seizures, incontinent, could barely walk, and acted like she had congestive heart failure. But she was my big teddy bear (108 pounds!), that I cuddled with after each miscarriage (five of them!), the kids could do anything they wanted to, and was my protection whenever my hubby was deployed, TDY, or working nights. The kids are doing fairly well, considering, though my three year old keeps saying he misses her (causing all to start crying again!) and my 20 mo keeps asking "Where's Stephie?" All in all, your prayers for comfort would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you all!

I just wanted to share that we got the sweetest card today from the vet and all those in the office. Each one wrote a personal note to us, and while it made the tears roll all over again, it also really touched our hearts! I was not expecting such compassion or love from them, especially almost a week later! Incredible people!

Oh Shannon, I am soo very sorry for your loss. She sounds like a wonderful girl, and a second mom to your kids and yourself. She will always be with you and there to offer comfort when you need it most. I had to put my girl down in 2008 and she is still with me every day.

Oh Shannon, So sorry to hear of your loss! How precious she was to you and your family. Our sweet Rottweiler, Nika, had cancer every where too. So sad... My 8 year old made a small clay sculpture of her that I put on my kitchen window sill. It made me feel so good just looking at it. I kept it up there for years!

We will definitely pray for your family during this difficult time.

Love to you,

Dena

So sorry to hear. It's so tough to lose a pet.
We just put our Rusty down three weeks ago and I swear I can still
hear him walking through the house. Just breaks my heart your
babies are going through this...you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Love to you all.

God has a bigger plan for me than I have for myself.
