The surgery took 8 hours but my SIL is now recovering. Thank you for all the prayers, I know it made a difference.

10/6--My SIL is supposed to have the surgery Tuesday or Wednesday. She is at a hospital where all they do is heart surgery. She also has an aneurysm, which is why she couldn't take a regular flight back to Dallas. She's with the best heart doctors you could ask for so praying that all goes well and she can begin to recover.

I just found out that my SIL who lives in Texas needs heart surgery. She travels a lot and is in New York right now. she started feeling sick and went to a hospital there. Something is wrong with one of her heart valves. Don't know yet if she'll return to Dallas for surgery or if they'll do it in NY. My brother is in Texas with the boys. He may have to fly to NY if they do the surgery there. The boys are almost fifteen and can be on their own a couple days--they have lots of school activities and neighbors to check on them. Everything is uncertain right now. Please pray that surgery is safe and effective and everything goes well. She's also diabetic, not sure how that affects the surgery.

Cindy,

Most definitely praying!!!!! I cannot imagine the stress she is under! We had to go to MD for my surgery, which was hard enough, but I cannot imagine being as far from home as she is!!!!! Thank you for keeping us updated!

She's trying to get flown back to Dallas for the surgery. The recovery time is 3-4 weeks so she doesn't want to have the surgery in NY. Insurance doesn't want to pay to fly her back. Do they really expect her to spend a month recovering while more than a thousand miles from any family members? Oh, yeah, I guess they do. It's nuts. Thank you all for the prayers. Maybe there's a patron saint of insurance...
