For the last several days the old hymn 'Standing in the Need of Prayer' has run through my mind. It got me thinking about how there are times that we all need prayer put we may not want to talk about it.

So I have started this thread so at those times when we need a little help to get through the day; to deal with a chronic illness or situation; to make a decision; or in dealing with a difficult person we can simply say remember me in your prayers. No explanation needed - just a need.

Remember me in your prayers.

Hugs, Sara

The fog of MS is starting to lift and the Lord has once again bought me through it by an extra helping of his mercy & grace. Today I am standing with all my sisters that need help in dealing with chronic ailments in asking our Lord to see us through it.

In the stillness of the night I pray and give thanks that the Lord is working on all our prayers. I offer up a new prayer that today he is with each and everyone of us to help us through whatever comes our way. As he gives us mercy today that we will show mercy to others.

Asking the Lord to remember us today.

Well said Sara,

I feel the same way, I don't have much to say so I pray anyway.
I just let them know I am praying for them , and if the time is right and God leads me to do it then IT say something.
Blessings and hugs

It's been on my heart for several days now to say this; just been waiting for the Lord to give me the words.

Sometimes when I come to this thread I feel like I have to say something but I have no words so I remain silent. I have learned to wait on the Lord to help me with what & when to speak. Other times I come and the words just seem to flow from me.

So it's okay for this thread to be silent at times - prayers are still being said - sisters are remembering those in need - and the Lord is listening to each and everyone of us.

We are here when others reach out to us and when we ourselves need prayer. And all will understand that we pray & let others know we are still praying for them; and that we speak from only the heart and not because we think it is expected of us. We post when it is put on our hearts to do so.

Sara, on the 28th you mentioned how you felt strongly about many needing prayer. You have such a precious gift of discernment and intercession. Thank you for praying.

I feel strongly that today we all need to stand in the gap for those that need ours prayers but don't know how to ask or may believe prayer is not appropriate in their case.

I too stand in the need of prayer. As I pray for my own needs I remember all my sisters here on the farm that all prayers spoken or silent will be answered.

Judy, thanks for bringing that beautiful hymn 'Consider the Lilies' to my memory. It shall be what I dwell on to day. If the Lord cares for the lilies how much more he cares for his daughters.

Sara...I love this post and it has already meant so much to me...I think about the old gospel song "Consider The Lilies" when I think of prayer...The words to the song are so full of meaning and tells us just how much our Heavenly Father loves and cares for us...I know life gets hectic and many times we fail to pray as we should...but prayer is the key to all of our needs...God has been so wonderful to me and my family...I could never thank and praise Him enough:):):)and as always...I too Stand in the Need of Prayer...

Hugs!

As we go through our day I stand with all you ladies in prayer for each and everyone in need. Lets also remember while praying to voice our praises for prayers answered.

I agree with Judy that we may never know who we touch; we don't have to know, the Lord does.

Sara, what a wonderful idea! There are so many needs. I love in the book of Philippians when Paul sates "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you..." What a wonderful example! Whenever ANYONE comes to mind or heart to stop and pray for them. it can only benefit those being prayed for and us with our walk with the Lord.

Sara, I love that hymn. My sweet Moma was in the choir for years and I loved hearing her sing it.

(btw....I know I spell Moma wrong. Well, wrong for the dictionary but right for me. :)

I, too, will be praying for those that post a request.
