Posted - Jul 27 2014 : 2:06:26 PM Hello gals, I'm asking if you could keep my developing baby boy in your prayers. I'm currently about 21+ weeks pregnant and we have had a few diagnostic ultrasounds and have been advised that we have a 50/50 chance that our little boy is Down's Syndrome.
The specific areas that I am asking for prayers are for his heart, I go for a fetal echocardiogram shortly and that his digestive system develops normally. The ob/gyn has concerns that both his heart and GI tract may not be developing normally and this is not uncommon in Down's children.
I am just concerned about multiple surgeries for such a tiny infant.

Posted - Sep 11 2014 : 5:39:33 PM AnneMarie, thank you for taking time to give an update. I am standing in agreement with you in your hope and prayer for your baby to stay nestled warm and growing as close to full term as possible. God is faithful and will give you strength to triumph. Yes and Amen.

Posted - Sep 11 2014 : 5:21:43 PM Hi Nini,
Well not so good is the answer. I had my latest rounds of scans. Baby does have a heard defect (which is repairable), he also has a stomach blockaged (also repairable). However, the placenta is aging (I'm currently 28 weeks) and it was discussed that early delivery is very probable. I'm not sure how early, it depends on how quickly things deteriorate or if they stabalize as much as they can. The hope is that my pregnancy can continue to as close to full term as possible (I knew I would deliver anyway as I have developed gestational diabetes).
I'm trying to stay positive, these are things that are what they are and I'm trying to keep my faith up (because I'm going to need it), but today it's very hard.
I'm very worried about my little one and the surgeries he will face so early in life.
