Posted - Apr 20 2014 : 11:48:37 AM Happy Easter fellow Farmgirls! I am requesting prayers for the family of my 2nd cousin. He has been fighting esophageal cancer for the last year, and then it metastasized to his liver and spine. He passed to Glory early this morning. His youngest child is saved, but his two boys are not. The oldest has turned to the bottle for comfort. We will be heading to MD for the funeral this week. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated! My kids, especially my oldest daughter (age 10) is really taking it hard!!!

Posted - May 04 2014 : 2:28:21 PM Thank you guys so much for your prayers! My cousin's oldest son did not come to the viewing or funeral. My kids are still asking LOTS of questions (this was their first funeral, but not viewing). The fact that it was a military funeral added to the questions. My cousin use to give all the girls of the family nicknames... I was Shannon Deluxe and my oldest daughter was Katie Bar the Door. (I have no clue where it comes from!) But anyways, Katie keeps having times of tears where she just wishes she could hear Jimmy calling her that again.

Posted - Apr 21 2014 : 4:13:33 PM Thank you ladies.... I keep reminding myself that I would much prefer he suffered from cancer yet lives in Glory, then enjoyed life on earth only to spend eternity burning in Hell. He has an amazing testimony.... his cancer did not change his life, yet his salvation did. After getting saved, months after he got the cancer, he quit drinking and smoking.
