My cousin recently moved from the small town where she lived back to the area where I live (more metropolitan). She moved in with her parents, as they are both in their 80's and sometimes need her help. Her kids are in college. She found out today that her old house had burned down--not really surprising, it was very old and in need of repair. Thankfully, no one was living there, as it hadn't yet been put up for sale. She still had some furniture and belongings there, now they're gone. She has insurance, and the property is somewhat valuable. She's shaken up about it, understandably. They think it was an electrical fire. She had a pipe burst recently that flooded the house, maybe it caused a short circuit. It's just one more stressor that she doesn't need. She could use your prayers. Thank you!
Cindy

My cousin has found out that her insurance will pay to rebuild her house! It was an electrical fire.

I think she's just grateful that no one was living in the house at the time. Her two college-age kids will need a place to stay this summer (they were planning on staying at her parents' house, but that would be very crowded) so if they can re-build the house by summer, I guess the kids can stay there. I haven't had a chance to talk to her as the town where she lived is some forty miles from where she lives now, and she hasn't been in one place long enough for me to talk to her. I think she's handling it all right--she raised two kids on her own after her husband decided he would rather drink and play computer games than deal with real life. I don't think he's paid any child support in years, I'm not sure she even knows where he is. She's strong.

I am praying too Cindy. That must be so hard but I am thankful that the insurance company will re-build her home.

I'm praying for your cousin. So much has changed in her life that it has to be hard to even process it all. It is sad that her house is gone, but so amazing that she and her family are safe. If other changes hadn't happened when they did, it could have been a true tragedy.I pray she finds pace with her current situation and that her life path becomes smooth and comforting.
