Hi all! Life here is crazy as always! Had to take our 2 yo to get stitches last night after falling on a fork :( He is so swollen today!!!! Then I heard from Johns Hopkins today - my initial consult will be in a week - the 31st. I must admit, I'm scared. Still not sure when they will do the adrenal vein sampling or adrenalectomy.

I had my adrenal vein sampling yesterday. Oy! I had no idea what I was on for! They gave me the fentanyl, versed and local lidocaine, but not enough. They had told me I would feel pressure... I assumed the immense burning pain was me being a wimp. After awhile, the tears started rolling, which the nurse took notice of.... she and the doctor kept apologizing, and gave me more fentanyl and lidocaine and then started again - that time it was MUCH better! I truly only felt pressure! With the recovery, it was an 8 hour event :( I had fed Aly two hours before it started. I had been able to pump two bottles for her, which I figured should sustain her during it.... that girl refused to eat during it!!!! She went ten hours without eating!!!! My hubby tried both a cup and bottle! I'm not sure what we are going to do when/if I have surgery. Anyways, for the most part I'm feeling alright. The site is sore and keeps bleeding a bit, but it could be a zillion times worse! Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Thought the ice storm was going to change things, but looks like we are headed back to MD this weekend. I have another appointment Monday and my adrenal vein sampling on Wednesday. Have I mentioned that anesthesia freaks me out?????? I was overdosed once coming out of surgery on my arm and almost died :( NOT looking forward to this!!!

Met with the surgeon today - LOVE him! They will definitely be doing the adrenal vein sampling.... just not sure when... I have to meet with the doctor that will be doing that, then have the procedure, then back to the surgeon, then to the anesthesiologist, then have surgery. Bleck! LOTS of driving back and forth from SC to MD :/ BUT at least I know I am in good hands :) Thank you all so much for the prayers!!!
