We leave tomorrow to go to Omaha Ne to see a surgeon that specializes on brain, neck and head tomorrow and see him early Wed morning. My ENT thinks I have a hyperparathyroid that was missed in the last surgery for hyperparathyroid. My fear is they will have to remove my other 1/2 of my thyroid or not find the culprit parathyroid. I have elevated kidney, PTH, calcium, BUN, Creatinine levels and we need to correct these. Please pray that this surgeon's eye will be open and will identify and correct my issues. I am hoping I will have surgery while I am up there, but have a feeling I will have to see him, come home and then go back in a week or two. I hate the hurry up and wait game.

I can understand your frustration. It's your health and your body and your mental health.
I will keep you in prayer. Try to keep your chin up. I know you will.
Sending you a hug...us farmsisters don't mind the rant! We're here for you.

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say: Here Am I.

I can't believe this saga. I went to an endocrinologist and he says it is probably not hyperparathryoid. He is doing more tests and I will not know for about 10 days. It seems like all I do is wait and hope my health holds out. How frustrating. At least today was a good day. Sorry for the rant, I am just soooo tired of spending money and not getting answers.

Thanks for all the caring thoughts and prayers. I feel like I am never going to get to leveled off. Next week can't come soon enough. I do have a back up endo appointment in Omaha if the one I see next week does not know what to do. I had a warning from the surgeon that this may be the case.

No surgery is good news! Maybe this is the info needed to help find a solution. Prayers continue! It is so frustrating that info is so hard to get about our own bodies. I know doctors are busy but we've seen ridiculous lack of sharing info too. Informed patients are a lot more likely to get the care they need.

Back from the specialist. Nothing is ever easy with my case. He told me he does not think it is another parathyroid, but something in my endocrine system. I am to see an endo guy next week. As we are leaving he says, "I see in your last surgeon's report you more than likely have Hashimotos Thyroidism". He asked if we had discussed this. I said no, nothing was ever said. I tell you, the medical profession is far from perfect and I wish I had the answer to better care. Soooo off I go next week to an endo. With all my previous records, maybe we can get some where now. Funny thing is, Lyme and Hashimotos have a lot of the same symptoms. I am relieved for the moment that I did not need surgery. Thanks for all the prayers, I believe they have the power to move me in the direction of healing.

Hi Kem,
I am thinking of you. I will certainly be praying for you tonight.
When things like this arise, I like to stop and feel God's arms holding me tight.
He is and will be holding you.
Sending you a big hug.

I would like to think that I will die a heroic death, but it's more likely I'll trip over my cat and choke on a spoonful of frosting.

Kem - most definitely praying! I truly feel your pain!!!!!! I will be praying for your pace of mind, for answers, for wisdom for the doctor and for it to occur quickly rather than dragged out!

Kem,
Prayers are with you for peace in this stressful time and well-founded trust in the specialist. I pray all will be figured out and that if surgery is required it be soon, so that everything can just go to the healing process.
