Hi girls -

'Just a quick update... Katelynn had her surgery on Tuesday... They put two rods in her back, and then complications arose so they had to open her back up again. Thankfully, she came out of it okay. She's in a LOT of pain, but her prognosis is good. Our girl is definitely a trooper!

Thanks so much for your continued prayers - she needs them!

Hugs -

Nini

Good morning, girls!

Please pray for our young neighbor Katelynn this morning. She is having back surgery and it is very risky. A tough surgery and recovery to face at any age, but the dear child is only 13.

The condition she suffers with causes her to have a severely hunched back. As she is growing rapidly, her spine and the rest of her body are growing at different rates. She is in indescribable pain and the curvature is getting so much worse. What she is experiencing is almost crippling, yet this amazing young lady doesn't complain. She is determined to live her life to the fullest and do all the activities her friends do; for example, on any given summer day, we'd see her out there jumping on the trampoline with the best of them. And when she grows up, she dreams of racing cars. Nothing will stop her, God bless her. She is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. A true trooper, through and through. An inspiration!

The surgery this morning will not correct her condition - that procedure is way too risky - but it is designed to give her some relief during her formative years. Please also pray for her during her recovery. We just love her so much. When I grow up, I want to be just like her! :)

Thanks so much - God bless you!

Nini

Poor girl! I am praying that she heals quickly and safely and that the Lord would take away the pain and discomfort. I am thankful that her surgery went well.

Praying for Katelynn and her family.
I can't imagine what this brave girl is going through.
Would you be able to email me her address? I'd love to send her a smile in the mail.

Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and He will say: Here Am I.

Hi everyone -

Thank you for your prayers. My foster daughter just texted me to let me know that Katelynn's Mom posted on Facebook that her surgery has been cancelled again today due to high sugar/keytones, and now is postponed til after the holidays. They are also keeping her in the hospital overnight because her sugar is so high. Poor kid... She must've been a wreck waiting. That'll wreak havoc with her sugar, for sure. BUT all in the Lord's time! At least she won't be recovering during the holidays! :)

Thanks again so much - I'll keep you posted, as I'm sure we're going to need prayers again in the future!

Hugs -

Nini

Girls - I'm sorry it has taken so long. As of this morning, I hadn't heard back from Katelynn's mom, so I asked my foster daughter to check Facebook to see if she posted anything yet. Apparently Katelynn's sugar was off yesterday, so they had to postpone until today. (I forgot to mention that Katelynn is a severe diabetic.) I don't "do" Facebook, so I wouldn't have known otherwise. I sincerely apologize. I'm sure her mom just figured if she posted there, she wouldn't have to make a lot of phone calls, which is completely understandable. My foster daughter hasn't called me with any updates, so I'm hoping this means they are in surgery now. The poor kid. I'm sure having to have it postponed yesterday was extremely stressful for all of them.

Thanks so much for your continued prayers - they mean everything! I will definitely keep you posted.

Hugs -

Thank you so much girls... Still no news. I have no idea how long the surgery will take, but I imagine it will be a while yet. Yes, her parents and her little sister are definitely having a tough time with it; especially Mom and Dad who have to be brave no matter what's going on inside. We'll all be very relieved once this part is over, for sure. :) Hugs - Nini

Nini, I just saw this post. I will most definately lift Katelynn up in prayer. What a brave young girl. I pray that this surgery is a success, and that she is more comfortable having had the surgery.
Prayers to her momma and dad, to who must be sitting on oins and needles.
Hugs,

Prayers are on the way for Katelynn and her family. It sometimes seems harder on the parents than on a kid having surgery. No one should have to be in such pain, but it sounds like she shares joy with all around her in spite of it.

My children and I just prayed for this young lady. Praying God leads the surgeons' hands, gives them and the nurses wisdom, the nurses compassion, and that He uses her for His glory! Please keep us updated as you hear any updates.

Thank you so much, girls... She is really a wonderful young lady. This is so hard. I did text her Mom earlier, but no word from the doctor yet. She'll keep me posted, as I will you.

Lori, your prayer is beautiful. Thank you. I'm praying in agreement with you right now.
