**Update: Unfortunately, Steve lost his battle with leukemia last night, passing away with his wife (my sister) by his side. I am grateful that he is not suffering any longer and now the long road to help my sister and her family put the pieces back together begins...thank you all again for your prayers and good wishes...even though Steve did not survive, I know your prayers helped my sister's family**

I've always been a private person, but this situation needs all the good wishes and prayers it can get...

My brother in law, Steve, is in his early 40s and was diagnosed in April w/leukemia (AML). He had a bone marrow transplant but it failed and I am now sitting in my sister's kitchen as I got a phone call from her yesterday saying that Steve was back in the hospital and they weren't sure he was going to make it through the day...apparently the leukemia has attacked his lungs and he needed to be moved to ICU...

Thankfully he made it through the night last night and he is improving. The doctors give him a 50/50 chance to beat the lung and infection issues but only a 10% chance to beat the leukemia...

My sister is panicked and heartbroken. She has two small children... I see how much pain she is in and I don't know how to help her.

Prayers would be so appreciated...
Thanks!

Just follow God unquestioningly.
Because you love Him so, for if you trust His judgment there is nothing you need to know.

Christine you and your family are in my prayers. I will tell you something my sister told me several years ago. Her husband had a massive stroke with major physical and brain damage. She was devastated. I told her to call me anytime day or night. She called almost daily just to talk and cry. At first I thought I needed to help fix everything but I didn't know how. After a couple of weeks she finally said "Sis, you are the one that told me I could call anytime I needed to but I need you to understand I don't expect you to fix things, I just want you to be there." From that point on we have both gone through many trials in our lives but I and she have been there for each other. Just being there is how you can help her the most. Don't try to fix it just be her light in the storm.
