I just found this thread and am so glad that things are going better. I'd like to think that a child born at harvest time to a farming family has a special bit of magic on his side! Thank God! But we'll keep up the praying too.

Our precious Oliver had surgery yesterday morning. They dilated his anus since it was very tiny and did a biopsy of his large intestine. They were hoping the dilation might be the solution we were hoping for. Seeing such a tiny little boy on a respirator and all those tubes is so hard, he hasn't cried since early Monday morning and had hardly opened his eyes. At 2 am this morning my daughter got the call from ICU that he had a full diaper and has had several since. I will never complain about changing this child's stinky diaper. He is becoming more alert, sucking on his pacifier and they have been able to remove his stomach tube as he is starting to expel the gas that has been building up. They are hoping to start him back on milk in the morning if he continues to improve. He biopsy results will be back I tomorrow and than we will know if we are dealing with anything else. I pray not. According to the doctor, this is a common problem in boys, although I had never heard of it.

My daughter and son-in-love came home this afternoon. They needed to see the girls and try to get a little rest. I love having the girls, but it is really hard to juggle everything right now. They will go to the other grandparents this weekend, as I really need to be helping with harvest. I feel Oliver is on the road to recovery and will hopefully be home soon, so will not make the trip to the hospital unless I have to, but once he gets home, my butt is going to be parked on their couch cuddling that baby.

Thank You girls for all the prayers, they truly are working!

Oh my goodness! I know how busy harvest time can be, and to have a sweet baby with issues must be heart breaking.
Prayers!

I'm sorry I just saw this Connie. I am praying for little Oliver for the Lord to heal him and bring comfort and strength to his family and wisdom for the doctors.
