My heart is broken...

A former piano student of mine took a corner too fast Saturday afternoon and the roads were slick. He over corrected and went off the road, side swiping a tree, rupturing the gas line of his suburban. Although the people near tried to get him out, it was too hot and smoky and they weren't able to rescue him. He was only 17 and he was an amazing kid. I was blessed to have taught him for 5 years.

I can't even imagine what my friends are going through right now as they make the arrangements for their son, their oldest. My heart hurts for the other two kids in the family for their lives have been touched by so much pain.

I know the answer you get when you ask the question why, but right now I truly want to know why!

Please, keep the family in your prayers. Keep our small community in your prayers. This is the second student from our local high school this year.

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

I am sorry to read this. So sad, as a mom I just don't know how you go on each day. I will pray for everyone in his family, and for you. Such a terrible accident.

Just horrible. I am so sorry for the loss--I never understand a life so young lost. I am praying for his family, for you and all the people who's lives he touched in such a short time on this earth.

Wendy,
My prayers and sympathy go out to you and the family of the boy. Our kids want to drive and have the freedom that it gives. Too many young people are harmed or killed by beginner mistakes. No wonder that driver's license brings fear as well as pride to a parent's heart. All three of our children were involved in accidents with teenage driving friends. Luckily they weren't seriously injured.

I am so sorry Wendy. What a tragic loss. I don't know what to say other than I am asking the Lord to comfort his family and friends, and for strength for this family to get through this. I am praying for comfort for you too.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

Mere words cannot express my heartfelt sympathies to you and to the family of this young man. A talent, lost so young, will share his gift with the angels forever.
