Girls - I am just so excited and thrilled for my brother!

My Mom called last weekend to say they had gone to see him. Now, with this surgery for the Acromegaly, only the progression of the disease should have stopped. BUT my Mom said my brother's face has actually started to look more normal (swelling and largeness is subsiding!), the swollen-ness of his hands have reduced so much that he is now wearing his wedding band again - the first time in FIVE years!!!, and he had been buying extra wide shoes because his feed had swelled up so much - but now, his shoes are noticeably loose! She said he feels better than he has in years - like a new person. SO much energy, so much stronger, no stiffness, no pain. It's a miracle!

Then today my brother emailed:

"My IGF-1 which was 776 when I first had it tested (4 standard deviations above normal), shot up to over 900 just before surgery. The results from last weeks blood test show it down to 283 (Threshold for normal is around 300). My thyroid function is also back within normal range at 1.3.

I had my blood drawn for cortisol levels today. If that goes well I should be off hydrocortisone in a day or two.

ENT appointment tomorrow. Hoping he clears me for work on Wednesday!

I feel so much younger. No other way to describe it. I feel like a new man.

Praise Jesus!"

Yes! Yes! YES!!! Praise HIM! From what my mother tells me, even the doctor is surprised by the wonderful changes he is experiencing! We are all so very grateful and celebrating in our hearts!

I just had to share this great news with all of you, and want to thank you all for your prayers and support, kind words and insight into everything he was going through and the surgery that was making me so uneasy. All is well! All is WELL!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! May God bless you all!

Hugs -

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Thanks so much, girls! He really is doing so well... He hasn't said yet whether or not the ENT released him for work yet, but I'm sure we'll know soon. :) Hugs - Nini

Thank you, girls! It IS exciting, indeed! We probably won't get to see him until this summer - but I just can't wait! Even his emails seem lighter, happier! You can just tell how much better he feels! Ruthy (Violetrose) assured me he'd be okay - and she was totally right! God bless you, Ruthy! :) I'm just so relieved - so thrilled - for him! All IS well, and God IS good! Hugs - Nini
