My daughter's friend took her baby, Madison, in for her 6 week checkup and mentioned to the doctor that the pupil of one eye was a different size than the other. That doctor thought she might have a catarct and sent them to an eye specialist. That was not it! They were sent to Mayo Clinic for tests including a CAT scan today. Madison has a condition called retinoblastoma and will be starting chemo soon. Please pray for Madison, her mom Casey and the rest of their family.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?

I just got an update. Casey and Rob and taken Madison to a clinic in New York. They were told that Madison has a very rare form of retinoblastoma and that the doctors didn't have experience to know how treatment would go. Sometimes it causes severe pain in the eye and the eye must be removed anyway.
Casey spoke with a woman who had two daughters with the hereditary condition. They had tried the chemo treatment with the first child and it had been unsuccessful and the child had died. Her second daughter had been treated with removal of the eye and was doing well. She told Casey she would not risk a child's life to save an eye.
That figured in to Casey and Rob's decision to bring her home to Minnesota for surgery. Please keep Madison and her parents in your prayers.

I saw pictures yesterday on Facebook of Mom, Dad and baby at the airport and on the plane. Beaming smiles from all three. What a picture of love and hope! Sorry I don't know how to share it, but hope the description can be an image for you. Thank you for your prayers, parents seem to be doing well and treatment is still to come.
