I just opened two bills that arrived. Both for for my daughter's visit to urgent care and mine.

They told us that we had a $30.00 co-pay. We paid $30.00 each. However, later I found out we didn't, but my doctor said they may just bill us differently.

Well...they were completely off on our co-pay. We do not, they just billed us for another $60.00 per person, making the visits $90.00 per person. Ugh....never trust what your physicians or doctors or hospitals say....always call your insurance, even if you have to stay on hold for an hour.

Well, this just stinks. I guess we get a $30.00 visit only if we go to a specific urgent care and not the family doctor. I finally got the details, and no we don't have a $30 co-pay. Not sure why that person told us that.

I have a $600.00 deductible for myself, and the doctor charges $102 just to see her.

I guess I will be praying harder that this lymph node returns to normal, and quickly too.

The lymph node is still swollen, which means calling the doctor back. However, I cannot until hubby has time to sign in and check our insurance. I tried calling, but I get nothing but machines. Even though the urgent care told us we have a $30.00 co-pay, my doctor is telling me we don't. So I sit and wait. Otherwise, I can't call the doctor, due to the cost.

Update: The doctor is now treating it as an infection, and if it's still swollen in 2 weeks from yesterday, they will biopsy. Thank you for your prayers.

I have a doctor appt. on Monday of next week. I'll find out the results of what they think is going on with the lymph node in the back of my neck. Please keep me in you prayers. I am praying it's from chronic fatique or allergies, and that I can rid myself of it soon.

I do hear the concern, but when your doctor wants $120.00 (or so) up front before they will even see you, and you don't have it, it's a huge factor.

Kristina, don't mess around with swollen lymph nodes. Your body is trying to tell you something. Which is more important, your health or your wallet? Take care of yourself. Darned insurance is such a hassle.

My Medicare went up $5, but my secondary insurance went up $40 a month. However, I usually don't have to pay anything else, so I should quit whining.

the Catholic Church has a ministry called the St. Vincent de Paul society--they help people who are having trouble paying bills and I don't think you have to be Catholic. I am concerned for you. Christmas is a season of blessings but it's also stressful. Please take good care of yourself.

SOrry to hear that the update is not good news. I think there really is something to be said for Eurpoean Countries and their socialized medicine. It seems to work so well over there. Here in the states, I only hear of problems when it comes to medical bills/insurance etc.
Praying that the lymph node goes down on its own.
Take care of yourself Kristina!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..

Thank you Darlene. Hubby came home yesterday around 5pm (8 hr day), slept 3 hrs, and went back to work at 11pm for 2 entire shifts. I feel awful he's working this much overtime, but jobs for me and my son are very hard to find right now.

He's been so busy, he has been too tired to check our insurance, while at work.

Thanks again, I do appreciate it.

Praying for your health and well being. When it comes to insurance, things sure can get messy and become a real pain in the rump!
More importantly is your health, so do take care of yourself!
Hugs to you,

I sure hope it is only and infection that they can figure out. Did they give you a good antibiotic for it...How are you feeling anyway?
I hope you can find out if your daughter will come to the Thanksgiving Dinner at your mothers, I will pray for that.
Take care and go have some tea and a good cup of chicken noodle soup.
Blessings to you

Thank you all. I put a heat wrap on it, and it reduces, but then goes back to the way it was. It's frustrating.
