My husband is going to teach two adjunct classes at the community college here. Also, he has an interview on Tuesday for a full-time position at a new firm opening here. Please pray that he will be hired if it is God's will. He has been out of work for 3 months now and I am still looking as well. We need something with insurance because Cobra is toooo expensive; we are paying through the nose for it!! Thank you in advance for your prayers.

Hugs,
Portia

Amen to that.

Keep your chin up. I am in the same situation. I'm working a temp job while my husband is interviewing. We do not even have cobra and could not pay for it if we did. I am told that when God puts you through trials he is preparing you for something better in the future. I keep telling myself that everyday and so far it has been really tight and stressful but it has been working out. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

God bless,

Judy

Thanks again, everyone, for your prayers. The interview my husband had turned out to be selling insurance and he had told them he would not come to interview for that. They told him that it was something else and then wasted 3 hours of his time!

But....

He had an interview for an engineering position here in town last week and is hopeful that something will come of it. I would appreciate your continued prayers.

Hanging in there---only by God's love and grace,
Portia

Dawn, Laurie, Darlene, and CJ, thank you so much. We are hoping that his job will lead to something permanent. Everytime I write that Cobra check, I almost choke! Laurie, I will take a look at that website, but we are hoping we will be able to stay in this area. The problem with school districts is that they don't want to hire a 60 year old; they have to pay them too much---even though we are the ones who have the experience and have stuck it out the longest! Oh, well, so much for my soapbox. Have a great weekend, ladies.

Hi Portia,
Just saw this post. I am happy to hear that your hubby got something at least and that the pay is more than he initially thought. I know that something will come along for you as well, I can just feel it- it is time and it will happen for you sooner rather than later.
Thanks for keeping us updated. I know we joke about someday meeting since we are both New Yorkers. I believe you said you were looking for a teaching position?
Check out my districts website- I saw a few job postings on there- not sure if they meet your criteria or vice-versa but worth a look:

Good Luck and keep the faith!

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. My husband found out that he will be makng more than he thought teaching the two classes---that's the good news. The bad news: The lady who called him for the interview (to be on Tuesday) sent info on where to go, etc. and it turns out it was to sell insurance, not an engineering job! Something better must be coming! Please continue to keep us in prayer.

Hugs,
Portia

I will be keeping you both in my prayers. Prayers for your hubby that he will find all the right words during the interview and that he has a confidence they can't pass up. I know how nerve racking interviews can be. Let us know how everything goes!

Awh Portia, what an awful feeling to have to go through all that, we have had several times when we were having big money problems but somehow we managed to pull through! Best of luck and praying!
