Michaela "Mickey" Shunick (21) has been missing since May 19, 2012.
She was last seen riding a bike in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Her bike was found later in the Whiskey Bay area, in a swampy area.
Tonight on the news, the Lafayette, Louisiana, police announced that they have
arrested a suspect in this case.
On our local TV station, tomorrow at 1 PM, the police will have a news update
concerning the case.
Please, keep Mickey in your prayers. I will be praying.
Thank you.
Here is a picture of Mickey:

UPDATE
Yesterday, police found a woman's body buried in a shallow grave near a cemetery. They are saying it could be Mickey Shunick's body. The body was taken to the medical examiner's office. The police said by Friday they will announce their findings.
Please, continue to pray for Mickey and her family.
Thanks.
Marly

Thanks, Janet. At least the families have some kind of peace and can lay their daughters to rest.

How awful for the family. So glad that they found the killer and there will be no trial so now the family can live in peace knowing he will never get out of prison to do this to another human being. Prayers going out to all involved.

The Sheriff's department arrested the right man. Brandon Scott Lavergne plead quilty to murdering Mickey Schunick, AND Lisa Ann Pate (he murdered Lisa Ann Pate 13 years ago), in exchange for life in prison. Mickey Shunick fought for her life, even stabbing Lavergne and spraying him with mace.

Thank you, Lisa. Mickey's sister spoke out this morning, the family is doing as well as can be expected. A memorial service is planned for the Lafayette area some time this week.

Marly,
I saw this on the computer this morning. How terrible. I am thankful that as you said, at least her family can mourn her and give her a proper burial. What a tragedy. Prayers that her family can find some sense of closure and peace.
Hugs,

Thank you for the update, Marly. I will keep this family in prayer. I am grateful for the closure they must now feel---even among the heartache. May God give them the peace that passeth all understanding.

Wishing for the country life!

So, so sad. It's a terrible thing, but I'm so glad her family now knows. I can't even imagine how horrific it would be to not know what happened to your child. Will be saying prayers for her loved ones.

The Lafayette, Louisiana's Sheriff's department just announced that the body found in the shallow grave near a cemetery was the body of Mickey Shunick.
Her family will have closure now, and will be able to bury her properly.
Thank you all for the prayers.
