I will be going to NYC on Thursday for a face-to-face interview with the company who has interviewed me twice on the phone. I would appreciate your continued prayers. Thank you in advance, farm-sisters. You are a wonderful bunch and I am blessed to be in contact with all of you.

Hugs,
Portia

Oh Yes Portia! If you ever come "down" to Long Island, we definately must meet!
I hope things are going ok with you and DH.
I think no matter where you live the job market is a tough one right now, but keep the positive energy flowing. Something will come along, I just know it- something where both you and your husband can work closer to home and have more time to spend together.
Keep us updated!
Hugs,

Portia, sorry you didn't get that job. But---I bet you get a better one soon. I'll be praying for you.

Thank you, Laurie, or should I say "neighbor?" You said you are on Long Island, right? When I get there, we will have to meet.

Portia-
I feel the same way! Kind of like a New York connection....LOL
I truly do hope that you and DH find your dream jobs. I will be praying for you both!
Joey-
Where are you these days? Are you really back in FLA? I saw your name on my postcard swap with the Florida address. Do tell what you have been up to lately and if you have relocated or are still out west.
Thinking of you and hoping that you have "settled" and found work, and that all is well with you!

Thanks, Laurie and Joey. I know our jobs will come in His time. Laurie, I sort of feel like your neighbor already even though I am upstate! Joey, yes we are still looking in NYC. My husband does engineering consulting. He is a structural/civil engineer.
Thanks, ladies, and everyone for your continued prayers.

Oh Portis, I'm sorry. I know that is a big disappointment. It will be interesting to see what God works out. What kind of consulting work does your husband do? Are you still planning to move to NYC? Will keep you in prayers. Please know we are thinking of you and keep us posted. Joey

Something better is out there for you and your husband Portia! Keep the faith and your positive attitude, and it will come to you.
Still praying for you both, and I hope your DH is feeling good too!

Well, after 3 interviews, I did not get the job! I think it was because I lack infant and toddler experience as far as a teacher for this age. I have experience managing a center with these ages, but they seemed to want direct teaching experience with these age groups. Oh well, God has something better in mind. My husband is applying everywhere and is doing some consulting work on the side. He has 35 years experience and sometimes that makes it difficult instead of helpful. Please continue to pray. I really appreciate all your prayers. Staying in touch makes things seem more tolerable!

Portia, maybe the update was posted elsewhere and I missed it but I'm wondering how your job hunt turned out and if your husband has any prospects in NYC now too. Still keeping good thoughts and warm wishes that it has all worked out OK. Joey
