Hi Farmgirls,

Don't know if any of you remember but two years ago I had a first mammogram. It was flagged and I ended up having to have a needle biopsy, which thankfully was benign. The outpouring of love and advice and prayers from all of you on the Forum was something I will never forget.

So...yesterday was my two-year follow up. Going to see this doctor is an ordeal, and takes all day because of the distance, as she is on the other side of the state. I am a ball of nerves just getting any tests, lol. Got my screening done, and saw her and I am all clear!! She says put it behind me and just get a regular mammo once a year like everyone else.

It had scared me so and I have had it on my mind for awhile. Breast cancer can strike anyone, and has hit loved ones and friends I know many times over the years. I feel very blessed that my prayers were answered yesterday. The positive from this was two years ago, the thought of something there was the final push for us to be healthier, and we went all organic and take better care of ourselves.

Just wanted to share some happy news with my farmgirl family.

Hugs,

Nicole

What wonderful new Nicole! My family's life has been touched with cancer way too much in recent years. I lost my grandfather and father to cancer in 2010. My step-brother was recently diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and had his Kidney removed yesterday at Sloan-Ketering in Manhattan. Luckily it was the "non aggressive" type of cancer and he should be fine now. 10 days ago I found out that my dear next door neighbor has stage 4 ovarian cancer. Hospice is there already and I just pray that she does not suffer long. She is the most darling woman. She has seen my 2 children grow up, and has always baked them cookies. Since we have had chickens I have given her eggs. She really is like a grandma figure to my kids, and is close to my heart,as she so reminds me of my grandma. My heart is breaking for her and her family.
So, yes, cancer is everywhere and it is very scary indeed.
I am so happy that you received this wonderful news and I pray that you continue to be Blessed with good health.
Sorry to go on and on, but it just seems like everytime I talk to someone the word cancer comes up lately.
I am happy to hear some GOOD news for a change!
Hugs,
