I kinda feel like most of what I say anymore is "I'm overwhelmed", and it doesn't feel good. It has been a very difficult 20 months for me, and as many of you know my Dad passed away 1/3/12. I will skip the details but will say 1) the paperwork and difficulties re: my fathers house are SO messed up even though we paid a lawyer big money to avoid the mess ahd filed every one of the multiple papers we were told to file, and it may cost my brother and I thousands of dollars (on top of the $5000 we've already paid)to get it all fixed,..2)the taxes for my father for 2010 and 2011 are all messed up and the accountant still needs about 10 more forms, and 3) the unethical issues at my job are eating at me until I can figure out who to report them too and 4) I leave tomorrow to drive 3500 miles to Portland, OR which we are so excited about but also a little afraid, and my DH and I never talk about divorce except for when we are packing to move and now because of 1 and 2 am unsure of how much money I have to cross the country with, and 5)we just got new phones that we don't know how to work and that the computer will work off of and we don't know that either. I feel as if I have SO much on my plate now and it drains my energy.
Dear sister, you don't even need to reply to this message. PLEASE just keep me and DH in prayer. I feel your prayers when I ask for them and it is a great comfort to me. I have always said that God needs to wack me in the head with a 2x4 for me to "get it" and so sometimes he does. This truly messes with my illusion of control. I KNOW GOD is in control but sometimes (like today) He needs to remind me of that. Hopefully a week from now we will be in New Mexico and having a good time but for now I am just overwhelmed, tired and it tears. UGH!! Joey

Thank you all and I am returning big hugs. Now it is today and we have spent so much time on other things that we are not ready to leave. We will probably leave tomorrow and the day delay just means I won't get to Graceland but I know Elvis is in the building somewhere. LOL.
My brother and sis-in-law will be taking over the taxes and the huge legal issues with my Dads house and money. We will enjoy our trip west. This morning I turned this ALL over to Gods very capable hands. I will worry about this day and this day only. The verse from Matthew comforts me about the flowers of the field and the birds of the air, how they don't reap or sow and God cares for them and will care for us as well...and of course, the verse SO hard for me-"Be still and know that I am God." The "being still" part is hard for me. SO I've felt your prayers and taken some deep breathes and spent time in prayer and am better. Portland,OR by way of FL-NC-Santa Fe,NM-Grand Canyon,AZ-Sacramento,CA-Oregon coast road-here we come..if we can just get our act together and get out our Fl door.... Hugs, Joey

Awww, Joey!!! My poor sister-buddie! Sounds like you really just need some rest and down time to regain your strength, clear your mind and reset! The drive cross-country will do you and your hubby a world of good. My hubby and I have had some of the best, most meaningful conversations and bonding time during long road trips. You'll see! Hang in there, girlfriend - everything will be all right. I'm praying for you and sending lots of love and hugs to help you through - Nini

Joey,
Praying for Peace for you and a feeling of calm. I can sympathize with how you are feeling, as I too lost my dad and my grandfather (just 7 months apart) less then 2 years ago. There is a void in my life that can not be replaced. Having to deal with legal issues on top of that void , can certainly be overwhelming. Hang in there, and as the others have said, try and ejnoy the journey to Portland. It certainly is a trip of a lifetime.
I am praying for you, and I hope that you can keep us updated on your trip.
Hugs,

~Laurie

Joey, I am sooo sorry that you and your family are going through all of this, and then on top of it to be feeling badly about things going on at work. I've said a prayer and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Be safe on your journey out to Portland. Try to enjoy yourself and take your mind off of things for a while. The scenery will be beautiful!

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Joey-- Gosh I completely understand why you are feeling so overwhelmed! The Legal stuff is enough to make anyone crazy and you have to have them sort it all out because of the laws etc. I hope your new assignment in Portland Oregon will be posiitve. I visited the city once and really loved it there. Such a beautiful part of the country and so different from Florida. Best of luck and keep us updated as your time allows. Meantime, we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for resolution to those matters weighing heavy on you theses days!
