Just sending up extra prayers for all of our farmgirl sisters who live in Colorado, and who may be affected by the fires that are burning there now. I know that there are quite a few Colorado gals here(deb, CJ, Sharon) just off the top of my head. Not sure if any of you are actually near the fires, but hey- it never hurts to send up an extra prayer!
Praying for anyone who may be affected.
Please update when you can!
Hugs,

~Laurie

Funny Farm is O.K. as of today - the winds sure did break more things and keep this gal fixing 5 heavy metal gates and scrapping two more wooden rabbit hutches. I have many friends up that way and keeping track of them and their livestock. We had one fire about 25 miles from us but I have not heard back from the fire chief. The wind has made our dry conditions worse and so I have been running hoses on things closet to the house, barns and animals. Hard to believe I had snow up to my waist and now this... Life changes on a dime.

Thanks for your prayers because Colorado will sure need it this year.
Hugs to all my Colorado gals - I even spoke with a tribal group I know who has been doing "rain dances" for us since last Friday... So far nothing..

Thank you ladies, all of you are so sweet, Marilyn and I are fine here in Florissant, my son lives in Denver closest to the fire but he is fine as well.
Nini glad your sister and family are fine as well.
Hope to hear from Kathy, Irene and others up in that area, I know they will check in soon.
It will be a very rough and dry fire season this year as we just have not gotten our snow, March is our snow month and we have not gotten any and does not look like we will.
Really strange weather this year all over the United States.
Farmgirls are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs,
Debbie

Just heard from my sister; thankfully they're okay:

My sister just emailed me:

"The smoke started over us about 4:30. The bad fire is between 20 and 30 miles west of us. Sounds close, but it would take a lot to get here. That said, the smoke is really bad. Have had the windows and doors sealed since about 4:45, and our sinuses and eyes are burning. [Our dog} came in after less than 5 minutes of being out a bit ago and gave a little cough (which surprised us, actually). We are safe. Trust me. It's burned 3,000 acres and several homes. Those are the folks to pray for. Don't worry. It will be mostly contained tomorrow after the winds subside (which they've already started dying down - some places had 90 mph gusts)."

Thank God they're okay. I guess we'll all just have to pray everyone through!

Hugs -

Nini

I'm sending up prayers for everyone, too. In what part of the state are the fires, Laurie - do you know? This is the first I've heard of them. I had emailed my sister who lives out there, too, but haven't heard back from her yet. Be safe girls - we love you and are praying! Hugs - Nini
