I feel kinda of silly posting about this, but I'm nervous to have three teeth pulled tomorrow afternoon (Monday 3 pm) because I don't like having to go under. I have one wisdom tooth that needs to be cut out, one that is in but coming out sideways, and one tooth that is broken and causing a lot of pain. The dentist said it would be best to take them all out at once, but that I would need to go under to do it. Grrr. So....happy thoughts, finger crossings, and prayers for me and my nervousness. Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know surgery went well and I'm home now recovering. The nurse actually gave me some anti-nausea medication before I went under so I never got sick at all! (Which is a far cry from what happened the first time I was put under about 15 years ago). I GREATLY appreciate your thoughts and kinds words. Thanks farmgirls!

Thanks gals, I really appreciate the thoughts and prayers. It's not really the tooth pulling itself that bugs me - in fact, I don't really mind the dentist at all! I've had two other teeth pulled in the past and did it with Novocaine and it worked out just fine for me. The issue with one of these teeth is that there is so much nerve damage to the tooth they won't be able to touch it with just Novocaine. The regular dentist tried three separate injections of Novocaine (about 15 minutes apart) to try and mess with this tooth and I just about went through the roof when he'd try to touch the tooth with cold water. (This is the broken tooth we're talking about.) My issue is really more with the general anesthesia and the fact that I have to be under...and wake up from it all. I don't do general anesthesia well, it's hard for me to wake up and I'm ALWAYS sick afterwards. Really, a small price to pay I guess and I'm probably being a big baby about it! :) Thanks gals!!!!!

Amy,
Prayers coming your way. I can totally sympathize with you. I am not one for the dentist either- in fact, I've been putting it off for sometime now, and I know I really need to get there soon.

Ooh, lots of prayers sent forth (from one dental chicken facing surgery to another).

A hook, a book, and a good cup of coffee....

Amy: I will keep you in my prayers, as I also pray for Linda. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Dear Amy from dentist chicken to another-I have had 2 bad teeth pulled at once and did not have to go under; going under costs more money and we do not have dental insurance. You might suggest to the dentist that you rather be "numbed", its really not that bad, really! One really important thing though dont use a straw or smoke (any sucking motions) for a day or two that may cause what is called a dry socket, the dentist will probably mention this, but just in case...let us know how it went! Good luck!

Amy, I know how you feel about this. I will be sending good thoughts and prayers your way. You can do this. Just think about when it's all over and you're out of there and back to that beautiful farm.

Hugs, Kris
