Hi all,
My DD, SIL, and 2 grandgirls are driving 12 hours tomorrow from NC to FL to see us. My DDs birthday is 12/31 and we try to get together each year to celebrate her birthday and the new year. This year is bittersweet because this is the last time they will see my Dad. I asking for prayers that they will get here safely and prayers for strength as they all say "good-bye" to my father. Thank you, Joey

Hello all,
Just wanted to let you know: My daughter and her family were here for 4 days. She had a wonderful birthday. We all went to the aquarium and saw "Winter"-there was just a movie about this dolphin filmed here by the same name. We all saw my father every day. Susan and her family left 1/1/12 in the afternoon. My Dad passed away yesterday 1/3/12..calmly and peacefully. He had been waiting to see his great-grand-daughters. The last thing he heard was my brothers voice over the phone from Maine. We are doing 2 memorial services-1 here in Florida on 1/10 where he has lived for 10 years and one on 1/17 in Phila, PA where he lived for 75 years. We came here 19 months ago because Dad was ill and it has been a long, difficult journey. He was a good man, a good husband, a good father, good neighbor and a good friend. He was well loved and will be missed by many. I am blessed to be his daughter. The best part of this is that while my brother and I were "civil" we were not close-until this past year when we had to "parent" my father-something I thought I would never see. God works in strange ways. Thank you for your prayers and support. Joey

Joey (my New Pen Pal!) this sounds like a bittersweet time, with the celebration for your daughter and also the goodbyes with your dad. Prayers for both joy and comfort for you and your family.

Warmly,

Pam

Joey, I pray that everyone arrived safely and are able to spend the time they need with your Dad. You're right..Nini just seems to say the right thing always.

Sending you farmgirl hugs to get through this. Enjoy your time with your family.

DH and I recently traveled from Iowa to FL to say hello and goodbye to DH's youngest sister. We treasure the time we were able to spend with her and the other siblings.

Peace and hugs to all of you.

I just prayed, Joey - and will do so again throughout the day tomorrow. I'll be thinking of all of you! May God love and bless you all, provide the family with safety and traveling mercies, and bless you all with a wonderful experience together with your Dad before he goes home to be with the Lord. Warm hugs and love, Nini
