12/14 update; biopsy was pretty painless but owie now!!! i'm icing and taking acetaminaphen.....did not sleep last nite more than about 3 hours-partly due to sinus' and throat...so i'm going to go nap....

i DID look at the biopsy sample in the lil jar..wow- they took alot of "stuff" but it's still a good lump....

he did NOT biopsy the armpit -lymph nodes-yet;wants to see what he got first then may go back in--im happy not to be invaded anymore than necessary but not keen on a possible second biopsy...

anyhow friday will be the earliest i could get results.[size=5]

original post:
long story short; i have a "lump" on the (armpit)side of my left breast..no insurance..health dept did the clinical exam and sent me -yesterday- to the hospital for a digital mammo. the radiologist wanted an ultra sound and has now ordered a biopsy......

i have to say that i am scared. it's probly nothing .but i am scared.

waiting to get scheduled for the biopsy ...

prayers and hugs appreciated......i find that it is very hard to ask for one's self....

***update wednesday 11/30---had my surgical consult today-dr is very concerned -his words- said level 5- will biopsy within next two weeks...--also lymph nodes may be involved per his hand examination--he talked about chemo already - positive is taht it's cold and winter so chemo caps (which i,ironicaaly, used to knit for capsforacure!) would be appropo! figures-my hair is below shoulder length now and i love it!

[size=5]new info: biopsy scheduled for wednesday 12/14---according to doc's nurse, he really DOES think this is cancerous....
my thoughts and emotions are all over the page right now. i appreciate everyone's prayers and ask that they continue.....

your prayers and kind words are all appreciated!

Margo-
Glad the biopsy is over! Now I know that the waiting will be very long and very hard. Know that you have your farmgirl sisters right here for you. We are praying you up and down- got you covered!
I am also praying that you can "relax" and find comfort over the next few days as you wait.
Hugs,

Ok....so you got that part over! Now (hopefully) only a couple more days until you find out what the heck is going on! No matter what the outcome, it will be a relief to actually know so you can figure out what steps need to be taken. I'm hoping those steps involve a celebration because everything is ok! :D

Keeping the prayers comming!

Hi Margo! I just wanted to tell you that I will be thinking of you tomorrow and saying extra prayers for you tonight!

I was catching up on your post and was so happy to see you're keeping a good sense of humor--the post about your carepage, lumpynme, and focusing on Christmas and not your boob! lol! We can't always control the things that happen in our lives so how we handle them is so important. Despite how worried you are, I can see you're taking this gracefully.

Many prayers and healing thoughts coming your way!

Emily

Margo,
Still praying for you for strength to get through whatever lies ahead. I have a great little "poem" that I gave to my dad during his journey through cancer and I now have it hanging right next to my computer. It seems to apply to almost everything in life so it is good to read every once in a while for sure!
It reads:
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think that you dare not, you don't;
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
Its almost certain that you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you've lost;
For out in the world you'll find
Success begins with a fellow's will~
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise;
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles dont always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon, or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.

I hope you find inspiration in that- I know it has helped me on several occassions!
Please keep us updated and know that we continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Blessings,

~Laurie

today i am humbled by the caring and the love of my farmgirl sisters; todays mail brought a most welcomed and unexpected box from one of you...i am hesitant to name names but you know who you are!!! --it contained a beautiful handmade card and some delightful choclates and tea bags to nurture the soul but most unexpected is the willow tree angel "a tree, a prayer". the wonderful card has been taped to the door of my study with others received and teh anel is currently sitting next to my chair (where i watch tv and read).
tears of joy and appreciation!thank you....

as today is monday; i have two more days til biopsy and the nurse hopes (i spoke with her today-had a few questions) that i should have pathology friday -monday at the latest.

i continue to wait....and continue to appreciate your prayers....

Hi Margo,

It's so hard, the waiting and not knowing (even when you suspect you know). Take this one day at a time, and remember that even if it's the worst, many women survive this. I am not trying to make light of this; it is really important to realize that you can get through this. Take good care of yourself and pamper yourself a little bit while you wait for the biopsy. I am praying for you and sending good thoughts. Please let us know how you are doing.
