Posted - Nov 12 2011 : 05:51:40 AM I'm going on week 5 of being sick with bronchitis and a sinus infection. I'm not getting better. Several others here are sick, and work needs done. Also, prayers for me specifically (can't explain, but it's more than health related). I'm going to God with it, but it feels like it's not enough to me.

Posted - Nov 15 2011 : 08:15:02 AM Back from the doctor:
dd 17 yo is on antibiotics, and I got her there before the bronchitis got bad in her lungs - phew!
As for me.....one shot while there, one nebulizer treatment there, came home with more stuff for treatments at home and two more medications. If I'm not better in 2 days, I have to get a chest x-ray for pneumonia.
DS 19 yo got himself a doctor appt. tomorrow morning. He is soooo congested.
Thank you all for your prayers.

Posted - Nov 14 2011 : 06:30:34 AM I am taking my 9 yo daughter to the doctor in a half hour. They won't call in meds without seeing her. I have a terrible headache. I called my doctor at 8:30am, they sent my call to the nurse, where I had to leave a message. I called back just now, and they sent my call to the appt. desk - yet to leave another message. I really need to find a doctor in a much more organized office.

Posted - Nov 13 2011 : 8:31:54 PM Kristina, I just saw this post and I hope that you are feeling better! Everyone knows that "Mom" cant get sick- there is simply too much that needs doin'. I hope that you are on the mend and that the chores get done. Also hope that you can find a less expensive solution to the broken wood stove glass. Prayers being said for you during this rough patch! Blessings,

Posted - Nov 13 2011 : 07:10:36 AM I wheezed all afternoon.....Mom thinks I have walking pneumonia (contagious and lasts a long time). Monday will be 10 days since I saw the doctor last.
I'm calling my doctor tomorrow and suggesting a chest x-ray (only way to confirm it, other than a blood test). However, the medication they gave me is also for walking pneumonia. So, if I do have it, then they may say - bed rest and liquids since I already had antibiotics for 10 days. I guess I'll know more on Monday. Also, depending on what she tells me, I have two kids that will need to see the doctor too.
I add fresh squeezed lemon juice and raw honey to water and tea. However, I have no appetite, and when I do eat I get a stomach ache.
The goat shed is getting worked on today. The wind is whipping hard and the poor billy goat needs more wind protection from where he is at.

Posted - Nov 12 2011 : 12:55:04 PM My son, bless his heart, went and picked up my 19 books I had waiting at the library. I haven't been to the library for over 3 weeks.
Anyway, one book on honey, suggested a TBSP of honey in a pot of hot water to relieve congestion (put a towel over your head and inhale).
Believe me, I've tried a drink with molasses, I've made sage tea (which I am now out of, and I am still drinking my water/ACV/honey 3xday.
The goat shed never got worked on. The third load of laundry went in the dryer (GULP!!!), and I have yet to put the cover over my furniture, that ds helped me move. It's going to rain tomorrow, but I got all the furniture put away. I just didn't get the wood moved to the porch.

Posted - Nov 12 2011 : 09:29:50 AM I'm having trouble breathing, but work has to get done. I've cleared the porch and will take a break to stock it with wood. DD3 broke the glass in the wood stove door. Cost to replace it is $180.00. I'm trying to find tempered glass cheaper. I have also managed to get laundry out on the line - 2 loads to go. It just had to get done.
For what my doctor said, it's bad this year. I may call again Monday but they won't do anything until my 10 days of meds are up. That would be Monday. Anxiety doesn't help heal me either. I'll just keep trying remedies and rest when I can. There are things on the farm that can't wait, especially building the goat shed. With his horns, he can't be put in the barn or in fencing. He'll tear it up. If I can't run the saw myself, without coughing (a real danger), and I can't hire someone, we may have no choice but to sell our purebred billy. I really don't want to see that happen.
I'm not running a fever, as I typically don't when I am sick. I just need to get it all done.
I do appreciate your prayers.

Posted - Nov 12 2011 : 06:27:38 AM Kristina, Prayers are with you. If you have been sick that long you should check with your doctor. Maybe there is a different antibiotic or something that can help you kick this bit of nastiness. When you don't feel well everything is harder and more of a worry. Putting things in God's hands doesn't mean we stop trying on our own, but let him lift the stress, that slows healing, that leads to more stress. What a vicious cycle! Sue
