Posted - Sep 04 2011 : 6:49:34 PM There's lots of coverage about the hurricane, but today many wild fires started here in central Texas. We have received very little to no rain all summer. It has consumed 14,000 acres at last count. The fires are just north and east of my home and the wind is blowing our way. I have one coworker who had to evacuate his home already.
I don't care so much about stuff but please pray for the safety of my family and others.
Julie

Posted - Sep 06 2011 : 05:36:58 AM Dear Julie, You are in my prayers. I am watching with horror the news of the fire. My dad's ranch is up there, and we don't know today if it is burned or not (he isn't there, thank goodness). Stay safe! Please keep us posted! Nicole

Posted - Sep 05 2011 : 08:16:55 AM Our home is in the middle of a 100 acres hay field. It is so very dry here. We had a bad fire in Wise County where we live last week. We are about 75 miles Ease of the Possum Kingdom fire. I pray for you and your many neighbors that your homes will be safe. Everyone I know is praying for rain. God bless you.
