Please pray. My husband is in the ER. A rock hit him in the head. Sounds like it came flying out of a piece of equipment while harvesting potatoes.

A special thank you to all of you for praying. A quick update. He had the staples taken out on Thursday and he's doing well! Amazing how close one can come to death and then in just such a short time be fine. All glory to God for His grace and healing. Thanks again. :)

Kimberly, so glad that his injury wasn't worse and that he is recovering well. I will keep you both in my prayers. It would appear he is as "hardheaded" as my husband. He called me one day from work and said " If you get a hospital bill, don't worry about it, the company's taking care of it. I've got to get back to work" and started to hang up! I told him to hold his horses and explain. He stood up too quickly under a helicopter and cut his head open, hence the visit to the ER and 10 stitches. These men of ours!

He's a crop manager for a big family farm. Basically, he's a work aholic. Runs in his family. He was working the day it happened, just with his phone. Tomorrow morning he'll be working at 3am harvesting. I'm a little worried but it wouldn't matter what I said, he'd still do it!! His boss (farm manager) was chuckling when I was in the office the day of the accident getting paperwork for him because I said he was still working just with his phone. He said, "It's the German in him!!" And I laughed and said that we Mennos are that way. :) I hope he isn't over doing it but he did have the doctor's okay to work today without restrictions so...... *shrug* I'll just pray for him and leave the rest in God's hands. Nothing more I can do.

Kimberly, I know what you mean. I can't handle stuff like that either. I know God did not call me to be a nurse. So is this y'alls business or does he work for someone? I think this is amazing that he is back at work so soon after this happened to him.

He went to work this morning!!! I bandaged his head and he has a shower cap with to make sure he can keep all dirt out. He also said he was going to be doing paperwork and such instead of being in the dirt to much today. It's healing really well. So relieved. Thank you to all of you that have been praying. I know prayers have been said on my behalf because I don't do well with stress and I've handled this very well, so it must be God!

Thank you all! God is so good. I'm so thankful. He's doing really well. An EMT friend came out today to change the bandages (there's a reason I'm not in the medical field). And she said that for a 24 hour injury it is healing nicely. I forced myself to look at it and it's not bad at all so I'll be able to look after it from now on. :) His main complaint is that his neck and shoulders hurt. I guess having a 10+lb rock dropped on your head will do that. All Praise to the Great Physician!! And big thank yous to all of you for going to Him on our behalf.

Glad to hear his is home but tell him that it is a bit too early to be wearing his Halloween costume - Zombie Mummy was so last year.

Take care - it will be like having a baby - up every three hours just be lucky you don't have to change those diapers. I will keep you both in my prayers. Keep smiling

I'm so glad to hear it was not more serious. I'm sure he would rather it not have happened but since it did I'm grateful it was only staples.
Hope you get some sleep between checks tonight.

Thanks for the prayers ladies! He's home with 16 staples holding his scalp together and bandaged like a mummy. But he's alert and doing well. I'll be waking him up every three hours tonight. Please continue to pray for his healing. Thank you all so much.
