Hello Farmgirls!

I have a gift cert to go to the local pottery place. I'm planning on going in the next few weeks and I would like to paint a few mugs. My plan is to pencil on a different [shortish] Bible verse on each mug and then paint it on... I would really like to have God's inspiration "in my hands" even when I'm not holding my Bible. It isn't my first time doing intricate work on pottery, but I do want to keep it short-ish so that it fits nicely.

So I'm asking for your help - what are your favorite Bible verses? When I'm there I'll take pics of my "creations" to post on my blog since I haven't the time to figure out how to post pics here just yet.

Thank you very much for your input!

Thanks so much! I'm glad that you enjoyed them! I enjoy using them! I'm hoping to get over and make a couple more of the larger mug for when I want to sit for quite a while. They were out of those when I went last month. Cafe mugs are nice though, perfect for breakfast!

Hi Farmgirls!

I wanted to let you know that I finally picked up my mugs and they turned out better than I anticipated! I do wish my handwriting was a bit neater, but it's kind of difficult with the stroke of the brush! You can see photos of the finished work on my blog (link below) the August 30 entry.

Thank you again & have a blessed day!

I'm going to play with these and the verses that were offered on the other thread under a different area (cannot remember which at this moment) and then see what shape mugs there are at the pottery shop when I go next month.

Thanks!!! :)

Nicole, I really liked what Linda had to say. I may not be as talented as you, so what I like is just ONE word & then the scripture under it tinier & offset. words like what Linda had said...REST, MY SHEPHERD, THANKFUL, PRAISE, JOY. Anyway...just a thought.

i think it's ok you posted here. the bible is rich with words and phares that keep us going. some of my favorites are
The Lord is my shepard, I shall not want
The joy of the Lord is my strength
Rest in the Lord
This is the day the Lord has made
I will give thanks to the Lord
don't think these are probably short enough but may inspire you to find a few. might try the psalms for inspiration.
look forward to seeing your art. blessings
