Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 07:08:13 AM Not too long ago I posted about needing support for ongoing anxiety attacks. Thank you all for supporting me. I have decided to try zoloft. I took zoloft about nine years ago and had success. I have been on it for about a week now and I am having headaches, nausea and crying. I don't remember this the first time I took it but I called my doctor and she is having me cut the pills in half for a few weeks. I am feeling a little guilty for taking the medicine because I try to be natural and organic. I am also feeling ashamed that I continue to have this problem. I truly want to feel better and I have hope that I will. I really just need to feel the support of others right now.

Posted - Dec 13 2010 : 10:49:19 AM oh dear friend- I have have been struggleing with this so much recently, I work at a dr office. I suffer from depression and anxiety and it has been rearing its ugly head. My anxiety has been so bad that I go to church and cry thru the entire service because I feel so bad. I have gotten meds and counseling plus the love and concern of my fellow farmgirl sisters that has helped me SO VERY much! I thought I was the only one that suffered from this- boy was I surprised. Please know that I am keeping you in my prayers and close to my heart. You are not alone, please remember to lean on us your friends and to mostly lean on God- I know he was/and still is carrying me each and every day! Lori |

Posted - Dec 12 2010 : 4:24:54 PM I too deal with anxiety, panic attacks and depression. Please do not beat yourself up for taking the zoloft. Depression etc, is very real and can take you down roads you never dreamed of. (Speaking from Experience) Reaching out for medication to help is not something you should be ashamed of at all. I think if you could get and accurate poll on the number of people in this world that are on some sort of antidepressant, we are in a majority ! Sad but true ! Know you are not alone and that we are here for you ! I know we are in a group of very compassionate, sensitive ,caring sisters !!

Posted - Dec 11 2010 : 3:24:14 PM Don't beat yourself up on taking the meds or having the anxiety attacks. Life is a challenge and sometime it is more than our bodies can handle. I will keep you in my prayers and hope as time passes the anxiety attacks will be managable without medication.

Posted - Dec 10 2010 : 6:50:40 PM I am also on medication for anxiety, and I also see a counselor regularly and a psychiatrist occasionally for medication evaluation. I think it's very important to have a complete support team in place, including counseling, because otherwise you are only treating the symptoms with medication...not the root cause of the anxiety. I really encourage you to see a mental health professional for an evaluation instead of relying on your family doctor, who - although certainly knowledgable and well-meaning - probably is not an expert in the treatment of psychological disorders. Of course, unless you have good insurance this is probably impossible, so I will pray for your relief, too.

Posted - Dec 09 2010 : 4:14:36 PM Sweetie please try not to be down on yourself. I too take meds for my anxiety. Wanted to stop it once and DD told me that I'm back to being who I use to be. I went through a abuse situation and became very depressed. Went to theropy for awhile. It's a blessing not to suffer what anxiety can do to you.It is as real as any other illness. Give it a try and if it works for you, and you can live a happier life, It's nothing to be ashamed of. If you'd like you can email anytime. Hugs, and prayers, Brenda

Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 09:46:45 AM If the Zoloft helps bring back your joy, take it without guilt. Like another poster said, keep being organic in the rest of your life. But your life and quality of life are just as important as being organic, I feel. And don't be ashamed to have this "problem". A lot of people suffer from anxiety and depression. I have depression. It's just another facet to who I am.
You are a wonderful person with many outstanding qualities. Keep positive in your thinking.

Posted - Dec 08 2010 : 07:19:53 AM *hugs* Please don't feel ashamed, Anxiety is a very real problem around the world. I know that you want to live an organic life, but sometimes the quality of life has to coincide with the organic. I am hoping that the Zoloft will help you and that your anxiety will subside so that you can get on with life =)
I suffer from terrible anxiety attacks and am learning that it is not some inner weakness of character, just some thing that a lot of people suffer from.
Try the Zoloft for a while and see if it can help...live the rest of your life as organically as possible, and don't worry too much...just try to feel better.
Love and light
