Posted - Nov 21 2010 : 06:10:01 AM As some of you know, I have been trying to get my late husband's business to pay me the buyout that was legally agreed to shortly after his death. I received no money in 2009 and very little this year. Because it is a family business and ownded now by y brother in law, I have been hesitant to sue. Also, my 93 year old mother in law is still alive and I don't want to jeopardize my relationship with the rest of the family.
Two weeks ago I hired a lawyer and have started legal proceedings against the company (my brother in law)
I really need prayers that this will turn out all right as I have had to spend my retirement fund to live on these past 2 years and am just about out of funds.
My sister in law (BILs sister) called me last week and told me that I have her support. That was a big relief to know that whatever happens I will still have arelationship with her and my nieces.
I know it all about money, but with the economy the way it is, I can't even sell my home to move to something cheaper
Please pray for me I'm pretty scared of losing everyrthing Michele

Lifes not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.
Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)
P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |

Posted - Nov 21 2010 : 09:04:38 AM Your dear husband would have wanted you to be able to live without so much worry and stress for money. What is wrong with some people? Is it just carelessness or greed? In some cultures the brother of an man who has passed away is responsible for the wife's living from then on. It is so much harder to take legal action when family relationships are involved. Prayers are with you, you are entitled to what was agreed upon Your SIL sounds like a gem, I'm so glad you have her friendship and support. Susan

Posted - Nov 21 2010 : 07:10:55 AM Oh, Michele - it is SO sad that it has come to this. I'm sure it is making you heartsick on many, many levels. I will pray for you. Maybe your BIL will come to his senses before this has to go any farther - we can hope! I'm also praying that the Lord provides for your every need. Hugs - Nini
