Would you include Gail (grammygail), one of my farm girl penpals, in your prayers? She got bit by a tick which has left her with little energy and weak. This happened while she was caring for her mother who was recovering from surgery. Gail was getting little sleep. The tick bite really set her back. She's not used to being sick and is having a difficult time adjusting to bed rest and not being able to be her normally active self. Thanks, she greatly appreciates your prayers!

It's a scary disease and often mis-diagnosed. One of our local doctors ended up with a heart transplant because of a mis-diagnosis. Thankfully, he's doing well now.

I'll double check with her about being tested for Lyme's Disease. I'm pretty sure that would have been one of the first things done because fortunately she is a nurse and she was hospitalized for a while since she was so sick. Thanks everyone for your prayers and concerns - they are so appreciated!

Diane, so sorry to hear about your daughter's battle with Lyme's Disease. How sad. Having worked in the medical field for ten years, there were times I wanted to scream at how patients weren't taken seriously. Your daughter is in my prayers, too.

I sure will pray for her! I was wondering why I haven't heard from her in a while.
Hugs!

Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

Hoping that she doesn't have Lymes and is feeling better soon. Poor girl! I detest ticks!

I will be praying for her also. She is not too far from me. Thanks for letting us know.

Prayers and hugs out to Gail. I hope she gets checked for Lyme disease. My daughter went through 3 years of agony being mis-diagnosed. The tick bit her in the belly button so we did not know it. She was really tired and had flu like symptoms. The Lyme test was negative, but sometimes it is taken too early. The test looks for Lyme anti-bodies. She continually got worse and started having legs aches and finally had one knee swell to the size of a grapefruit. The doctor kept treating her for Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and had her on a myriad of medications. I begged for another Lyme test and they turned me down. After three years of agony, I finally went for outside help at the University of Madison. They said her Lyme count was off the charts. Too bad we did not find it earlier. It can be cured if caught in the first and second stages. My daughter had the third stage which causes her many medical problems. The bacteria can lie dormant in spinal fluid or organs and come back on you in many awful ways. It is called Late Lyme Disease. Please go get a Lyme test, it could save you from great aggravation later on.
