Posted - Sep 21 2010 : 4:20:52 PM For those of you sending cards and prayers to my Grandma, here is another update. Today she went to the radiologist and will begin radiation tomorrow, for 15 days. He wants to do radiation of the whole brain area as he says there is more than just the two spots on the brain that they orignally thought. She will probably lose her hair, and it may or may not grow back. He did say that without this radiation she could possibly only have one month to live. The radiation could improve that to a few more months, or possibly a year or more. They want to battle the brain cancer right now, as he said the side affects of that can be quite bad. The lung cancer is still where it orignated though and she is not decided on whether she will take chemo for that. They are going to do a test and if it is one type of lung cancer she could get a pill form of chemo which may have less side affects then the IV treatment. The lab results are still out on that though. Many more prayers for my Grandma in the next coming weeks. She will get tired from going to radiation each day (a 40 minute drive...her daughters and sons will be driving her each day) and then the radiation will make her tired as well. Anyone still wanting to cheer her up with this continued card shower are welcome to e-mail me for her address. She keeps a whole pile of cards that she received from you laidies on her buffet table in the dining room...it meant so much to her! -Elizabeth www.trenchesofmommyhood.blogspot.com |

Lifes not the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.
Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)
P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |
