Last night a family in our town lost their home to a fire. Their home is a complete loss as well as everything in it. All I know right now is that there is a mom, a daughter and three dogs. I'm not sure if anyone else lived in the home. One of the dogs died in the fire, the paramedics brought the dog back to life only to have to send the mom to the vet to have it put back down because of it's injuries. (I'm sorry I know they meant well, but that poor little girl lost her dog twice. I'm feel so very sad for her right now.) She also lost all of her new school things. (School just started back up here this past Wednesday. ) Please send them some good thoughts, prayers and hugs.

Thanks~ Melanie

The road to a friends house is never to long!

Thank you ladies! I still have not heard any news on the collection the church is putting together. I did learn that there were other family members living in the house. Not sure exactly how many as the story keeps changing. As for the mom and the little girl, they are staying with a neighbor. They have no where else to go and the little girl is still pretty tore up. Another friend of mine has been visiting with her daughter to try to lift the little gal's spirits. So please keep them in your thoughts. *hugs* I will post as I learn more.

Melanie:
This is so sad. My prayers go to your neighbor and the little girl and her dog.

Melanie, prayers are definitely sent! I would love to send something to the family, or just something for the daughter, like a few notebooks or something.

Thanks Laurie! I don't have any details yet, but I do know that Bethany General Baptist Church is considering organizing a drive to collect things for the family. My friend goes to this church and invited me to hear their new pastor. I've been planning on going this Sunday so maybe I will learn more about their plans.

Prayers to your neighbors! If you think it is feasable, let us know and perhaps we can all send a few things along to them, if for example her daughter is my daughters age/size I could definately send some clothing or toys/books etc. I am going to email you seperately as well.
Thanks Melanie.
