Last Thursday, I woke up with a little pain in my belly. I honestly didn't think anything of it and I was hoping that it would just go away. By the afternoon, I was in so much pain I could hardly breathe. I went to the Walk In Center-who sent me to the Emergecy Room of my local hospital, where I found out I had a terrible case of Pancreatitis. Even as sick as I was, I found it hysterical when they kept asking me if I drink alcohol, because I don't at all. There are other things that tigger it. They kept me in the hospital for a whole week, because my counts were so high and I was in as they put it 'grave danger' They finally let me go home yesterday afternoon, thank goodness. I'm still in a bit of pain, and I am still going to have to go for some other tests, but I am so hoping that the worst of it is behind me. Your kindness in keeping me in your thoughts and prayers would be very appreciated.
Thanks so much everyone,
hugs
Marcy

So sorry you are having issues. I also had pancreatitis and it was due to gallbladder. I had it removed and didn't feel good for months. Hope they can get you well and mended soon.

Prayers go out to you. Glad you are home and out of the hospital. Hospital stays........not so much fun. Rest and relax.

Marcy, I will say a prayer for you. I was hospitalized twice with Pancreatitis two years ago after I had my gallbladder removed. First time for two days, the second for three days. It was so painful I actually thought I was having a heart attack. Gallstones and alcohol are causes that is why they asked about drinking. I don't drink either and I had just had the gallbladder out so they were a bit puzzled. Long story short, I am fine now, have a little trouble with certain foods so I watch what I eat but have not had a major attack since then. For me, I guess I needed a gallbladder. Take care of yourself

You are in my prayers. As a nurse I know exactly what you're going through. Listen to what they tell you to do and make sure you follow through with whatever they say. Rest and take good care. Keep us posted.

Prayers are on the way! It is so great to get home after a stay in the hospital. Now try to get some rest and take good care of yourself.
Its so easy to take good health for granted. Will this go away or will it need further treatment? I've heard the name before but wasn't sure what pancreatitis was.
